Let me know what you think, this is my first EotE homebrew :)

New ship and vehicle characteristic- Luxury.

Each Luxury Upgrade improves the Ship/Vehicle basic standards: Life Support (Sanitation, air condition, galley compartment, etc), Captain’s Cabin, and Quarters. Also each upgrade on its own has variable added utility services, according to its rank.

  • Stock (1) - Bare minimum, straight from the factory. Except for Captain’s cabin, all rooms are bare,of furniture, lighting is scarce except service lights, and with no complement (fuel, food, etc). Most first hand ships will start at Stock, unless specifically stated.
  • Common (2-5) - Minimal furniture and common utility services (Shared refresher, simple food stuff, physical entertainment, etc). Starts with half complement .
  • High Class (6-10) - Luxurious commodities, including varied personal compartments, services and equipment.
  • Military (11-15) - Major space installations like space stations and capital ships have this unique rating, which includes varied levels of luxury per “district”. Stock up to Common for minion levels, Common commodities for officers with luxurious Captain’s Cabin (which usually translates as the bridge, war room, throne room, etc).
  • Rare (x) - Unique luxurious installations with specific or special use and service. From Super-Weapons, to Trade & Entertainment, up to Artifacts and Myths.

Example of supplement services/mods-

  • Computing bay (research, archiving, slicing)

    • May perform additional space-ship actions using the Computers skill (instead of the usual skilled used for the check) from this station. Add 2 Setback to that skill check.

    • May include specific features to be used as “Best Tool for the Job”, adding up to 3 Boost (slicing custom programs, scientific labs, library).

  • Training facility (gun range, gym, etc)

    • May train certain skills as if they were Career Skills.

    • May include specific features to train in uncommon and unusual skills.

How do you plan to assign and increase this statistic?

That seems a bit... unnecessarily detailed?

Honestly, Inferior and Superior seem like they'd be better tags to use. Your ship has an Inferior living quarters? Add Threat to all relevant rolls (e.g. Resistance checks for long-term healing, Social checks when on board). Your ship has Superior sensors? Add Advantage to all rolls to use them. Or just add Boost/Setback dice.

If I was going to do something like this, instead of just rating "luxury" low to high,

I would try to define its style to kind of say who it might appeal to

Military

Has military style furniture, angular interior with standard medical facilities and an armoury

Warm/homely

Has exotic rugs and art bought at a small village.

Comfortable living area, large dining area

Outlandish

Looks to be falling apart from inside but is an organized mess from the hands of excessive modifications and adjustments from mechanic

Luxury

Extremely clean, light silver walls, curved furniture and facilities

Large open room, expensive ceramics

Bio friendly

Has habitat to allow for species other than sentients.

On board greenhouse, science lab

I think military ships wouldn't usually be luxurious but of course if that's how you imagine it and that's what you want

But I guess in life I just always things like luxury can depend on peoples opinions sometimes.

Something's england might find repulsive France might think luxurious lol
