So, I am planning to run an open Twilight Imperium game at my local gaming pit. I was wondering if you folks could help me out with a few things.
First and foremost, I need to find some TI-related art to whip up a poster with. It won’t do me very much good to spend a lot of effort running a game no one knows about. I’ve looked in all the usual places and I’ve only really found images of the game box. While it looks impressive, the fact is that it is covered in text that does not relate to game times. I haven’t even found one piece of related fan art, which is a crying shame. If I had any artistic talent, I’d provide some.
Second, and a little more troublingly, I was wondering if anyone had any idea how to run the game in a continuous campaign setting. If I could get a group that wants to play through the game on a monthly basis, is there any way I could put together a narrative to tie the games together. I mean, the central idea is that the game ends when one player becomes Emperor, but having the empire fall back to starting positions at the beginning of every game seems a little bit unfortunate.
I suppose I could get my hands on Vassal and just have an infinite victory point limit. Or alternately, I could simply run each game in a league format, with each victory going towards cheap-o gaming prizes. I don’t know, do you folks have some ideas?
