Marauder Class Corvette

By Rogue Dakotan, in X-Wing

The Marauder Class Corvette 195 meters. So around the right size for huge ships?

Has anyone brought this up yet? I just think it's a cool looking ship.

Looks like it only has two big forward facing guns. Haha a huge ship with a standard forward firing arc. 5 dice attack. XD

looks too Romulan for my taste

Yes, I know that ship well. I've used it (mentally) in my online RPG.

I think it's far too obscure to have in the game, and the RPG stats for it seem confused for the model. (It supposedly has 8 cannons, rather than just the 2 that look apparent on the visual.) Also, it's primarily used by a faction (The Corporate Sector Authority), that I cannot imagine being made for this game. :(

But I like it! :)

let's not focus on rebel ships first. let's flush out the imperials with a support ship akin to the rebel transport. even things out first then switch back and forth :P also have scum to think about now

IIRC they have stats and art for it in the Edge of the Empire core book as a ship you can use. Could be a scum option.

How many guns does the EoE version have?

Wasn't that thing a LOT bigger than, like, CR90's in Star Wars: Empire At War? I know the latter are scaled down further than true 1/270, that would have to be big. I'm all for it though.

It's not ALOT bigger, but it is bigger.

It was in Empire at War and X-wing alliance, so compared to other sources not obscure at all. The real issue is it's wingspan would make it twice the size of a corvette in a few ways so probably V expensive. For a scum ship i'd sooner see the Action IV or Mobquet.

In fact Mobquet. Think about it, YT2400, Star Vipers with Xizor and Guri. At this point it'd be downright rude not to have a suprosa pack.

I just started playing EaW again because I couldn't get my X-wing fix and I picked it up a couple years ago for a couple bucks (yay May 4th sales!).

This thing is certainly bigger

EotE version:

Four forward mounted Light Double Turbolasers

Four turret mounted Light Double Turbolasers

Three forward mounted Light Tractor Beam Emitters

It doesn't mean much in comparison to X-wing. The versions of ship in these two games can vary wildly. In Edge, the Lambda is much more durable than the Firespray, and it has a rear arc, while the Firespray is forward arc only.

This ship needs three bases for a fair representation,

so I find it unlikely to be made officially.

That's an Interceptor Frigate on the right, correct? I don't think I've ever seen a top down image of one, it's a lot bigger than I thought it was, but it could be a good fit for Epic. I like the Marauder but it's too wide for X-wing in my opinion, I think the wings would get in the way of other ships maneuvering and measuring range. Its coolness factor would be over shadowed by the annoyance of playing around it.

R-41 Starchaser on steroids?

Agreed, but that's a rather awesome model. Any clue (or link?) of when you're going to have it painted?

I have to confess to being jealous when seeing stuff like this. Thankfully, Armada's coming out to scratch the capital-ships itch, but I would still like to play a more overarching, story-driven campaign at X-Wing scale, with huge ships.

*sigh*

I figured everyone recognizes a shapeways print by melminiatures by now:

This guy started painting his, but he's only posted two photos, that I've seen:

Yes, I'm aware of Mel's miniatures, but I hadn't seen much other than online mock-ups of most of his ships, much less a painted model.
