Future splat books..

By Kager, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

The Old Republic Campaign Setting. Probably impossible.

None of that is canon anymore, so it's unlikely.

You do realize that like 90% of the material in these games are derived from Legends, right?

I would very much like to see Black Sun get more detailed treatment.

Shadowports would be useful for both games, and would be a fun place to put Jaws, and/or Ugnaughts.

I cast my vote for more adventure modules. BtR and JoY were so awesome

Honestly, after the splat-books for Techs and Bounty Hunters, I hope they don't release any "character rules" books at all, instead concentrating on world-building and gear and modules and whatnot. One of my BIG problems with other RPG's (looking at you, D&D) is the "rules-bloat" that you get with 18 different rule-books for each class and 12 for each race. A lot of which contradicts some rule from a previous book. That kind of expansive library turns a D&D session into a research and cross-referencing party. And that's boring.

What I'm trying to come up with is the first setting sourcebook for FaD. The play style of FaD seems to be centered around Force users exploring ancient ruins and recovering artifacts and holocrons. So, I'm thinking that the first FaD setting sourcebook will be about ancient Jedi and Sith temples and ruins. Tython would obviously be part of it, as well as any number of cool adventure sites with connections to the Force. This is only speculation, of course :)

Yeah, someone already mentioned Dagobah and you have Tython; both would be good places. Korriban/ Moraband, Rhen Var, Ruusan, Ambria, and Byss (Deep Core one, not Outer Rim one) could be some other good ones. Maybe explore how a Force nexus might work.

Oh hell yes! I'd love a section on the Valley of the Jedi, it's one of my favourite places to take my players as a big setpiece.

One thing that might be cool would be remakes of the old West End SWRPG movie books. I thought it was cool how they came up with backstories and details for every character in the films, especially the minor ones.

I wouldn't mind a big Species book, or perhaps a book for some of the major movie locations, like Tatooine and Coruscant etc.

Now I and all of my Players are hoping for a book on the Mandalorian Sector, culture, minerals, manufacturers all inclusive.

I think that this is very likely given the popularity of Mandos in recent Star Wars history. From old canon we had the very cool Karen Traviss books, and from Rebels - which is new canon - we even have Sabine Wren.

This is what I hope would be in it:

Planets: Mandalore, Concord Dawn, Cathar and some more

Weapons: Mandalorian Crushgaunts, Beska'd

Armor: Beskar'gam

Vehicles: MandalMotors Pursuer Class, Basilisk War Droid

Species: Mandalorian Human, Cathar, Zabrak (to unlock them for EotE purists who won't buy into FaD)

So what would you think of a mandalorian sourcebook?

Oh hell yes! I'd love a section on the Valley of the Jedi, it's one of my favourite places to take my players as a big setpiece.

My group tried to explore there. We dubbed it "Jedi Fun Land" as the place we were at before was just awful and this other place with mysterious Jedi legends just had to be better, right?

So we scan the planet before landing and my GM populated the planet with a few camps of outcasts and runaways trying to stay away from the Empire and avoiding technology. Well we spooked them shortly after landing. They shot my Wookiee's arm off with a slugthrower and a dewback chewed on half the party.

We left and haven't gone back since. Partly because it had nothing to do with our campaign hooks. I have a feeling we will go back eventually.

Fantasy Flight has been using Legends content all over the place. While I agree that it's not a priority for them, don't count something like that out.

They might be saving Mandalorian stuff for a Bounty Hunter sourcebook, but they might do a Mandalorian Space book (I'd like to see that)
