I'm a new player and finding it hard to find any meta's or groups or ourganised tournaments in the UK at all. Can anyone let me know how the game's doing over here? I have a pool of other local game players that aGoT will see some playing time with, but would like to know if there's any organised events here.
Anything in the UK?
well, I guess that answers that then.
don't let this stop you though. See what your store/stores have. Also, i know there is a group in the UK who play Call of Cthulu LCG and while that might not appeal to you, they might now someone(s) who play Agot. Try askign around on their forum if you haven't.
Good luck.
Although you might find chapter packs in a couple of stores, as far as I know support for the game is non-existent.
I'd love to try playing some friendly multi-player games but have never found anyone willing to give it a try.
Yeah, the lack of organised UK support or 'recruitment' for the game is a bit unfortunate. If it had been given a bit more push at the outset then it might have been a whole lot easier to have got some playgroups up and running in our larger metropolises.
That said, I've not given up on the game yet (because it's awesome, obv.) and I'm still actively looking for players to do either melees or jousts with. So, if anybody reading this is UK-based and within striking-distance of London, then I urge them to give me a shout to see if we can set some games up.
I'm still living in (futile) hope that the launch of the Warhammer LCG (in which I have curiously little interest) might turn some more UK players onto the whole LCG concept in general, which might seed the country with a couple of new potential players. But I guess that only time and active E-mail spamming campaigning will tell.
I live in London, and can't buy a starter pack anywhere!. If anyone lives in London and has a spare deck so I can try the game. I 'm up for it, free on weekends. I have posted this on boardgamegeek and did see a post on nerd london , but they haven't even replied to my request to join the forum.
Cheers Obeseman
try sending a 'friend request' to the other people who posted in this thread and include in the message what you wrote here. I'd like to help but i live in the USA.
Hello. Try Orc's Nest near Shaftesbury Avenue, they should have starter packs.
Leisure Games (Finchley), Playing Games, Orc's Nest and Forbidden Planet (all Central London) are the places to try.
Gigantic Christmas bump.
London. Winter is coming. Call me.
Whilst I realise that this is thread necromancy, I'd like to get some sort of regular game. I've only managed a handful games with friends, so I'm almost certainly playing things wrong. Did anything ever come of this thread?
Hi guys,
AGOT players do seem a bit rare here in the UK. I'm 45 mins or so north of London and have started playing with some friends. Lucky for me they are already addicted to other Fantasy Flight games so it wasn't a hard sell but it is difficult to know if you are playing the game correctly and how best to build a deck without having someone with a bit of experience to point you in the right direction. I'm up for playing anyone but I haven't played more than a two player game beyond starter decks as yet.
http://www.gameslore.com sell the starter packs and chapter packs and can advise over the phone as well.
It may be worth checking out Collectormania in Milton Keynes at some point, they may have someone there that sells chapter packs etc.

Hi there,
Thanks for giving the thread another bump.
Still actively looking for more players in London. Have a box of AGOT on the shelf that doesn't get used half as often as it should.
Cuacuani: if you're anywhere near the capital then send me a PM (here, or on boardgamegeek, where I have the username 'Grift') and we'll get a game organised some time in the near future.
Amnell: we're probably a little bit too far apart to do regular meetings, but if you're ever coming down to one of the boardgame meetups in London then let me know and we'll figure something out.
Random Lurkers: If you're anywhere near London and fancy giving AGOT a go, then give me a shout. More than happy to loan people decks, or to bodge up a draft format if you don't have cards of your own.
LoneWanderer: London is a bit of a trek, but with advanced warning (so I don't go spending train fare on beer/more cards) I can get the train in.
Amnell: Sounds like you might not be a million miles from me. I do most of my gaming in Cambridge.

Cambridge isn't that far from me at all, about half hour or so if the traffics good.
Amnell.
For all you players in the south, down at Wargames Heaven we have really got into playing A Game of Thrones so, if you can make it to Brighton, please pop in and see us.
To help with a bit of background (so long as this is ok with FFG) we are a gaming centre with a shop, coffee bar and clubroom (with room for 18 6' x 4' tables). Our club members play pretty much everything - cards games, board games, rpgs and wargames. If you want to know more about us, please see our website (in my sig) or our Facebook page (Wargames Heaven). Better still, if you're in the area, call in for a chat.
cheers
Guy

Amnell and I went to Collectormania 16 at the MK Dons Statium last Saturday, and were pretty disappointed by the lack of stands selling any CCG or LCG cards, unless it was TV or Movie based. There were stalls at Middleton Hall (outside John Lewis) selling roleplaying games including AGOT chapter packs at the Milton Keynes Wargames Society show, Campaign 2010 on the weekend of the 8th-9th May. It was from this I bought my first chapter packs from www.oggames.co.uk .
Amnell and I are based in Bedfordshire and have been playing AGOT for about a month now, we have been playing joust games most lunchtimes where possible with another collegue. I generally play House Targaryen after trying House Lannister and couldn't get on with them.

I'm based in Cambridgeshire, right on the Cambs/Beds/Herts border. There doesn't seem to be much interest, although a friend of mine has expressed interest - he's an avid M:tG player and I'm trying to convert him. My local shop (a place in Cambridge) is surprisingly good with stocking the game, despite a general lack of interest.
I'm busy next week, but you guys certainly appear to be within a drivable distance for me if you fancy meeting up for a game?
I'm based in London and have recently bought this game. I wouldn't mind getting into it a bit. Feel free to PM if you're in the London area. I don't think I'll be able to commit to this massively as I work full time and am studying part time but am interested to see if there is a UK scene.
Hi there,
A London scene does exist, though it's a distinctly casual one.
Drop me a line and we'll set up some games.
I'm not in London yet, but I'll be in London from October for uni. I've only recently gotten into the game, and I love it already. I should be based in west/central London (as long as my uni gives me a place in a uni-owned hall). I don't know what my schedule looks like yet, but I should be free most evenings and weekends.
Hi all,
I've been playing GoT for a while now, but only recently moved into London, so will gladly catch up with you for a few games and/or beers in the evening. There is a slight catch however (there always one it seems) as I was previously based in switzerland, most of my cards are in french... although the artwork is the same it might become a bit confusing for you. I work in central london so moving around shouldn't be too much of a problem.
Would anyone be up for a monthly meet? Possibly central London based. I might look into finding somewhere if there is passing interest.
Definitely up for a monthly meet of some kind.
Also up for doing ad hoc meetups before such a thing gets fully organised.
Definetly up for a monthly meet. I'm sure we can find a pub that'll accept us. Anybody else up for it?
Also if people want to have ad hoc meetings, don't hesitate to pm me.
