New canon short story about Tie Fighter pilots in Star Wars Insider!

By Rogue Dakotan, in X-Wing Off-Topic

Just thought I'd pass this on.

The latest issue of Star Wars insider has a short story all about Tie Fighter pilots, and the rivalry between Navy, space pilots (vac-heads) and Army atmosphere pilots (ground-hogs).

I haven't finished it yet, but it's written by Jason Fry and all short stories that appear in Star Wars Insider since the forming of the new canon are indeed considered canon.

You can find SW Insider at Barnes & Noble.

I'm sure the Tie Fighter is the last ship on the design team's mind, but now we have a whole bunch of canon pilots if they ever need any more names to put in those eyeballs.

IM sure when you say that TIE Pilots have a rivalry with NAVY pilots they mean in story non-TIE flying pilots of the IMP NAVY because TIE Pilots are a elite branch in the IMP NAVY.

This obsession lately of what is and isn't canon is becoming rediculous. :P.

I hope they put out an anthology that collects all these stories into a single volume, I bet there are some gems that won't otherwise be read.

I would hope so. I heard in an interview the people at Del Rey are getting excited about these short stories. Maybe there will be more care and interest in them moving forward.
