I used to play Starfleet battles years ago. Attack wing "Looks" cool. but was wondering how dog fighting mechanics work for non dog fighting ships that should have nearly 360 degree firing arcs for everything???

I used to play this. My recommendation is to stay away from this drek as far as possible. Miniatures are to WizKids standard, that being crap. Game balance is non-existent. Play testing to see if anything is broken or op on new ships is limited at best - when you release a wave every 2 months, there isn't enough time to properly check out the ships.

Attack Wing is yet another cash grab by WizKids using a popular IP. Just stay away from it and you'll be happier for it.

I've played Star Trek Attack Wing. The mechanics are identical to X-Wing. But there is no balance. There is a lot of exclusive prize content. Pretty much everything is game breaking. The miniatures are out of scale and look terrible.

That said, I've watched many people have a great time by using house rules and their own models. The Star Trek Universe can definitely be a fun place. And you don't start a Galactic Civil War just because you want to get some.

But it also makes it not as fun. Just look at multiplayer in Destiny. Ick.

funny you mention destiny.. it kind of ticked me off that you NEED multiplayer help to finish the main mission... as for attack wings miniatures i thought they looked good. but like i said i am used to the starfleet battles miniatures and they were horrible!!

I'd be willing to give the one with the dragons a try.

The system seemed off to me and the wild disparity in scale is why i stopped making minis for it. That and the fact that im not a fan of Trek ships after the original cast movie era

yeah i am not a fan of the out of scale thing. its also one of the reasons I don't like Armada.... although the jury is till out on it..
