Did you get a blank Title card in your Star Viper?

By Gibarian, in X-Wing

May have missed the thread on this, if it's a widespread thing.

When I opened my Viper, at the bottom of the stack of upgrade cards was a blank card. It has a border but no image/text in the body section of the card. The back of the card shows the graphic for Title upgrades.

Any/everyone else experience this?

I bought two IGs and in one of them there was that card :)

A buddy of mine opened a StarViper and found a blank title card as well. Everything else was still accounted for.

Maybe if you scratch it with a coin it will reveal secret wave 7 spoilers!

Congratulations!

You have found the blank title card, earning you a one-way ticket to Tatooine.

Upon your arrival, Jabba the Hutt will personally greet you in his Palace for a tour of his art collection. There will be lively entertainment and excellent local delicacies.

Have a great journey, and enjoy your stay!

Note: Be sure to bring light and simple clothing, the temperatures can rise very high indeed, and the rancor hates getting bits between his teeth.

It happens every now and then, I've got a blank modification that was extra from a rebel aces box.

If XWM turns into a valuable collectible in 20 years time, blank cards and misprints might be some of the most valuable components

along with the Biggles card ;)

If it's blank you get to write in the ability:

Space Bantha Stampede

Roll 3 Green dice. For every [evade] you roll, take a ball peen hammer and smash an opposing player's ship.

"Space Banthas...Not as clumsy or random as blaster..."

I didn't get a blank title card, but I did get a cannon that also had the missile symbol printed over the top of the cannon symbol in the lower left corner.

Which cannon was it?

If it's a Mangler or HLC you might have some happy A-Wings in your collection. ;)

It was from the recently re-stocked Firespray I bought, so either the HLC or ion cannon. I just shoved it in with the others! I'd love to see the look on someone's face if I tried to pass it off as a missile upgrade :D

No, I did not....I was met with StarViper awsomeness

I'm jealous of all these misprints. All I got in my star viper was a stack of ion tokens.

As someone who never bothered with Wave 5, getting a copy of Ion Torp was pretty neat. Might be expensive but it's a highly underrated missile.

It was supposed to be the Jar Jar crew card, but thankfully our operators were able to neutralize the threat.

*Edit* That reminds me - I'm playing Scum against a 300 point Rebel list on Saturday - there will definitely be a Tantive on the table - probably a Transporter too.

I finally have a worthwhile reason to make use of Boba with the Slave 1 title ( I always use the Title card when I fly The Fett but I've never felt the need to put a torp in the pipe before.

Also - Kath slowly pacing forward with the Vette in her rear sights - that would almost feel like cheating.

My opponents ships have nothing to worry about there then.

Yeah I had the same misprint in one of my Aggressors

They're probably test print cards that somehow made it into the product instead of the trash can at the factory.

If it's just blank with borders but no text or picture on it, then it's not worth the paper it's printed on. Misprints have value only when they have a connection to a card that is playable and popular in the game, and only if the misprint itself is provably rare, as in only a handful in existence because the manufacturer did something for a very short time and then quickly changed their manufacturing process and destroyed the mistakes to correct the error.

It sounds like a bunch of people are finding these, meaning they're not rare, and they're blank, so no reason for anyone to want them other than as card stock for custom cards, which is what we do with them in MTG, making the value ~= to card stock.

There's no real cost to holding on to them I suppose. Except that's how hoarders get started, keeping every piece of trash because it might become valuable someday. *whistles and walks away*

Too bad I ditched my misprinted Soontir and Han cards.

Oh well.

Congratulations!

Cool a petting zoo tour of cuddly rancors.
