Will we see a return of XWings as a major Rebel ship with the addition of S&V? I wonder if there isnt some gem upgrade we aren't noticing for the Xs!

if you meant to hit "Y," then maybe
but for the X-wing, there is really nothing that benefits them directly
the "hidden gem" already exists, though. You can find it in the rebel transport box. It's called "R3-A2."
Slap it on Luke w/V.I and Engine, and you'll get a ship that's viable against just about anything not so much as a straight combat ship but as an enabler for the rest of your squadron.
Sadly, that is all I've been able to find. Apart from Luke and R7 Tarn, everyone just dies so easy...
