This is my first attempt at any sort of competitive play, I usually just play casually with friends. Roark and Biggs fly in formation (range 1). Moldy Crow and Recon Specialist feed Blaster Turret the focus tokens it needs so stress tokens received from keeping up with Biggs aren't an issue unless a target lock is needed. Roark bumps Biggs to 12 pilot rank during combat. Biggs take all damage meant for Roark. R2-D2 and Shield Upgrade turn Biggs into a tank. Tycho functions as an interceptor, hopefully Biggs and Roark draw most of the fire. Push the Limit means you don't have to sacrifice getting better position with a boost action to take another action like focus or target lock. Let me know what you think and where I can improve. I currently have the following sets to work with: Starter Set, A-Wing, B-Wing, E-Wing, HWK-290, Tie Bomber, Tie Interceptor, Imperial Aces, and Most Wanted.

Biggs' job is to protect your points. Spending a lot on upgrades for Biggs is counterproductive. You've got a Z-95 worth of points tied up in upgrades for him.

Trying to stick with what you've got I'd maybe try something like this:

Roark w/Recon Specialist, Blaster Turret, Moldy Crow

Biggs

Blue Squadron B-Wing w/Advanced Sensors

Prototype Pilot

That leaves you 4 points for R2-D2 or a Shield Upgrade on Biggs. Biggs looses some tankiness but also stops being the primary target in the list. His ability make people kill him, there's no reason to make him the ship in your list that they would shoot at anyways. Tycho gets dropped down to a lowly PS1 Prototype pilot, whose job is to flank and block and be a general annoyance. The cuts to those two ships lets us squeeze in another ship that can be a hard hitter. The Blue Squadron B-Wing can use its Advanced Sensors to barrel-roll before moving, or take a Target Lock or Focus before pulling one of the red manuevers on its dial.

It's important with Biggs to try to make your opponent split their fire and not allow them to focus Biggs. Ideally you'll have Biggs out of arc or range of some of their ships making them spread the damage around. Especially if you put R2-D2 on Biggs don't be afraid to run off with him when he's taken a lot of damage.

Thanks, I'll give that set up a try next time I play!
