Since the Necron faction is absent from the Great Devourer deluxe expansion, I'm wondering if it means that they will have their own deluxe expansion like the Tyranids. If so, then won't that mean we'll have to wait for another Cycle to pass before we see the Necrons? If an Wolf Pack comes out once a month as scheduled, then I doubt we will see Necrons in Conquest until 2016.
Necrons
Yeah, I would expect them to be out in the next deluxe early to mid 2016 if everything stays on track.
On the plus side, when they do hit the table we can perhaps expect some neat rules (like infected planets) and a more comprehensive host than if they tried to cram nids and necs together in the one box.
Given their place on the ally wheel it might work out better for the Necrons to come out after a few cycles as they will have a larger pool of interesting units to yoink into their decks.
I dunno, this cycle has gone through quite quick, and the Deluxe expansion is just a single thing on its own, so they won't want to hang around too long before the next cycle will they? Or do FFg typically only do like 2 cycles and then 1 deluxe a year?
One typical year in a LCG is usually 2 cycles of 6 packs and 2 Deluxe Expensions. We may be able to see the Necrons by the end of 2015.

Which is exactly why I think they will show up in October to December. December being the more likely candidate.
There might be a gap between the first Deluxe and the first pack of 2nd cycle, so my guess would be December 2015 or January 2016 for the second Deluxe.

Well in the main rulebook you get with the game it says that each of the Tyrannids and Necrons will get their own deluxe expansions, so I'm not sure why this has surprised people.

Well I think it also would have been really interesting to see a Deluxe expension that covered Nids vs Necrons for example.
However. This move technically makes more sence as you'd still need at least a single copy of Core for the planets etc etc.
I think that having the Necrons come out later is a good idea, as they will then have a LOT of options for allying.

No, it doesn't. It says, "The Necrons and Tyranids will be introduced in upcoming deluxe expansions." No mention of whether they will be together or separate.

Expansions. Plural. I definitely read that as each getting their own deluxe expansion as having two factions split over two deluxe expansions to get them wouldn't make much sense.
That is one valid way to read that, but it's not the ONLY one. That's all I'm saying.

It is. What did you expect after reading this? Several half-nids-half-necrons deluxes?

That was a possibility, yes. Not what I expected, but it was possible.
I think people are reading "valid" as "probable" which is not what the word means. The rulebook suggests separate boxes, but this is by no means necessarily the case.
I'm expecting the Necron deluxe expansion to be released before the next cycle begins.
Largely because they will need to have a much larger injection of cards to catch up with the available pool if we go another cycle first.
But who knows. We'll see!
The first release of necrons will have to be expansion 2 as those are evergreen and all war packs will rotate out. Necrons use any ally cards from all of the original 7 so they will need far fewer original cards then ony other group. I do believe that we will get a full second cycle and then see Necrons in January 2016
It's possible, of course, I just don't see them hampering the faction by forcing players to use allies to play them. Of course, I don't really know, but I just feel we should have totally playable factions in their own right. But then, Order of the Silver Twilight entered the Call of Cthulhu LCG with a significantly lower card pool to the existing factions. I suppose we'll just have to see!

Did they catch them up by releasing higher ratios of cards for them in the subsequent expansions, or do they still have a lower card count compared to the other factions?

I don't know specifics, but there had been four cycles before the Order deluxe box was released, followed by three cycles, only one of which had what I'd say a significant number of Order cards. My feeling is that no, the other seven factions have a greater card base, though that doesn't necessarily lead to an advantage as the faction (to me) plays like a good all-rounder. Whether that'll happen to the Necrons here, I don't know, but I hope not.
