Need help playing a friend with imperial ship list 40pts that will kill Skywalker , can't get through r2 reshielding need a sample list or ships and start ideas

Just two academy pilot ties and Backstabber should do it. (core set and one tie fighter expansion)

Soontir Fel with push the limit if you want to live dangerously.

Vader with advanced targeting computer once it's out.

Shuttle with Vader crew and Backstabber.

Edit: The middle two are only 30 points duh. Add Predator, Engine Upgrade and Proton Rockets to Vader, and modifications to Fel, or, oh god, have opportunist and targeting computer on Fel just so you can say you did it once.

The Vader build would crush Luke brutality.

Bounty hunter + ion cannon, andrastra with two seismics maybe? The ion blocks r2, the bombs deal damage directly to the hull...

super phantom will do it easily (named, V.I, FCS, Advanced Cloaking, and recon officer if Echo)

Luke has a money ability, but it doesn't like going up against 4+ dice that almost guarantee 4+ damage

What expansions do you have, TC? If only TIE Fighters from their expansion / Core Set, go with Mauler Mithel and Backstabber, or Backstabber and two Academies. Alternatively, go with Howlrunner / Mauler (35 points), throw Swarm Tactics on Howlrunner (38 now) and just leave it at that. You'll get initiative and shoot with both before Luke

That could be but now you could also run into Luke + R5P9 to recover Shields. That may require a Focus token to pull off but unless needed for offense Luke's ability makes it a little less likely to need it for defense.
