Finale: Desperate Hour

By poisonpatrol, in Imperial Assault Campaign

I'm getting ready to play the Desperate Hour mission finale to SWIA campaign tomorrow night. I was reading through the mission earlier to prep and I had a question I was hoping someone who's played the mission can answer. After the rebels assume control of the AT-ST (assuming that they make it that far) can they take said AT-ST out doors to fight the second coming of General Weiss's AT-ST? I know the finale rules state that AT-STs can move through and occupy interior spaces, but I'm thinking that it cannot move out doors. Although, if they don't get to use the AT-ST I don't see how they can have a remote chance of winning.

I've been the Imperial player and have been stomping the rebel scum. I actually backed off on a two of the last three missions because my rebel players were starting to complain and I was afraid they'd stop playing. Subsequently, they won two missions in a row. I put a stop to that in the third and really let them feel the full fury of the dark side.

Cheers!

why would you think the at-st can't move outdoors? the standard rules for campaign is that it can't go inside the rule removes this restriction

Because the doorways leading outside aren't wide enough for it to fit through...unless it sidesteps I guess (??)

It would seem you need to re-read the rules on large bases. The AT-ST can fit through the door. It looks weird from a model perspective, but it is allowed.

Can someone please indicate where can I read about this in the RRG? In some situations the AT-ST needs to rotate to exit the interior space like in "Desperate Hour" but to do so, the edge of the base will have to go outside of the map while rotating.

Pretty sure you're going to stomp the crap out of the Rebels again unless you let them shoot your AT-ST with theirs. This mission isn't even close to being doable by the Rebels if the Imperials are careful.

And?

RRG pg 16 Under "Large Figures"

"A large figure may spend one movement point to rotate 90 degrees (note that this is only necessary for figures with bases that occupy two or six spaces). When doing this, the large figure must still occupy at least half of the spaces it occupied before the rotation."

Where in there does it say anything about walls?

See Appendix II on pg 27, top right corner for an example. The "9" should clear this up nicely.

Thank you.
