Store Championship Imperial List Advice

By tin_snips, in X-Wing Squad Lists

My local game store is hosting its 2015 Store Championship event in a couple of weeks, and I'm trying to work out what list to take. Last time I played at a store event there was a fair amount of Falcons, and with the recent release of the Decimator and Outrider I'm honestly expecting plenty of turrets still.

I managed to win the Assault on Imdaar Alpha event with a Shuttle and small Howlrunner swarm, but I'm torn between something like that or a new list.

List:

Soontir Fel (35)

TIE Interceptor (27), Royal Guard TIE (0), Push the Limit (3), Stealth Device (3), Autothrusters (2)

Carnor Jax (34)

TIE Interceptor (26), Push the Limit (3), Royal Guard TIE (0), Hull Upgrade (3), Autothrusters (2)

Omicron Group Pilot (31)

Lambda-Class Shuttle (21), Darth Vader (3), Rebel Captive (3), Engine Upgrade (4)

Total: 100

The idea is to have Soontir do his thing, Carnor gets in close to help with token denial (hence the extra hull instead of stealth) and the Shuttle assists. The other option was to drop Push the Limit on Carnor for Veteran Instincts, so I've got something to deal with Phantoms and a 2 point initiative bid.

The other option I was thinking was running a Fett with Veteran Instincts (for anti-phantom duties), then Howlrunner with Hull Upgrade and 3 Obsidian Tie's (PS 3 so Predator doesn't get an additional roll against them). 100 points even.

Does anyone have any thoughts? I don't really have anyone to discuss lists with so would love some input :)

I've run a very similar list a couple of times and it was really nice. I put hull + shield on Jax instead of autothrusters because he will be at range one most of the time and turrets can get him with their main arc in the opening rounds.

Obviously I couldn't afford Rebel Captive, but the way I run the list I want the oponent to shoot my Shuttle first.

My tactic is to close the distance with Jax with the Shuttle slow roling behind him. I try to flank with Fel or try to keep him at range one. All high agility or shieldless ships will get a dose of vader untill the Shuttle dies. :)

I think that you are spending too many points on a ship that you intend to do damage to it yourself (vader on shuttle). Most players will avoid shooting it until it is the last ship on the table. If that happens you're in a bad spot most likely anyway.

You can justify EU keep your arc but I think I would take off Rebel Captive.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm going to playtest the list later this week, but will definitely consider removing Rebel Captive from the shuttle, and replacing Autothrusters on Jax with Shield.
