Xezor and stealth device

If he has a stealth device, can he keep it if he passes the damage off to a squad mate?

Example: x-wing rolls three hits. Xizor rolls two evades and two blanks. the one remaining hit gets passed off on two a Z-95...

What happens to the stealth device?

I'm working on a build where he has a sd and is protected by the body guard ept and a few other abilities within the scum faction that allow him to roll additional defense dice. He would also be loaded out with draw their fire.

The Stealth Device would be dropped.

The SD is discarded if you are hit by an attack.

Xizor passes off damage if you are hit by an attack.

Both events trigger at the same point: when there are uncancelled dice left after the modification of defense dice.

a ship is considered to be hit if there are uncancelled hit or crit results left over once all dice have been rolled and modified.

So even if Xizor has an ability to pass on damage after he has been hit - he has still been hit.

The situation is reversed with things like bombs and mines, asteroid damage, assault missile splash damage - these effects all deal damage, but as they are not the result of uncancelled red dice results at the end of a combat phase, they are not considered "hits" and therefore would not remove a stealth device

I think Shield Upgrade would be better. The jump from 1 to 2 shields is one of the best stat additions IMHO.

He passes on an uncanceled hit so yeah SD is lost which is why I'm more inclined to have someone with body guard on his wing.

If "hit" a ship loses its Stealth Device. Even if Lt. Blount fires two [blank] dice at a R3 Fel turtling behind an asteroid the Stealth Device on the Interceptor would be gone.

Another inverse is that if a ship has something to pull [boom] and [kaboom] results from another ship it is NOT the ship that is 'hit' and could keep a Stealth Device despite taking damage.
