Han Solo isn't a very good pilot

By TallTonyB, in X-Wing

If Harrison Ford crashes a plane again, I'm petitioning FFG to errata Han Solo's pilot skill to 1.

Counterpoint: he was able to walk away from the crash.

Should be PS12 IMO.

He landed it on a golf course fairway. This seems to indicate he had an engine failure or some other kind of catastrophic failure forcing an emergency landing. His injuries, a broken ankle and pelvis, are classic impact injuries from a hard landing. I think he gets cool points for being over 70 years old and successfully crash landing an early 20th century plane with survivable injuries. For this I will give you a pass on Crystal Skull.

I think Harrison will suffer from un-dismissable stress and will now only be featured as a crew card.

He walked away with a broken ankle and pelvis?
Talk about Scoundrel's Luck

Tough old man... he'll live to be 90'ish.

Didn't he intentionally avoid a crashing in a suburb, and possibly killing a bunch of people, by steering his plane into a golf course? That's PS 9 easily. I mean Luke crashed into a swamp the size of a planet and he's PS 8, and Anikin crashes like 100 ships throughout the Clone Wars and Vader's a PS 9.

If he'd flown the plane into a mountain or taxied onto an active runway then maybe.

But... he managed to crash land a 60+ year old plane that appears to have had a mechanical failure. He walked away from it, relatively unhurt and no one else was injured. Add to that, he is 72.

So FFG should bring out a new Han Solo card, which has him with permanent VI bumping him to 11.

I value my pelvis.

Harrison flew the plane well and did precisely what he needed to in order save lives and that's it period. Well done.

He's an exceptional pilot who pulled off an extremely tricky crash-landing after engine failure.

On the other hand this is the 3rd time a plane/helicopter of his has given out, so maybe he doesn't pick his vehicles very well?

A better representation would be to make him PS12 and ignores Pilot Criticals and Stress, but reduce the Millennium Falcon's stats to 1/1/1/1 and definitely no Engine Upgrade!

P.S. Nothing gives him a pass on Crystal Skulls, except maybe World Peace.

He is smart too, indeed it has to be intended. When I have to make a forced landing, I would choose a golf course too. Nowhere else you will find more doctors and lawyers assembled ;)

Specifically, he avoided crashing into my neighborhood, and he failed to smash into my wife's office building. For that: Thanks Mr Ford! 10/10, would let you land in my neighborhood again.

I wonder if he was thinking

"what would Han solo do" as he was going down

Glad to hear he's ok
