Me and my friend were testing his new Scum and Villainy today, as we both really wanted to test out Autoblaster Warthogs. I had the amazing trio (L B W), and it devolved into a very cuthroat game (we're normally cool with forgetting focusing etc) because Lone Wolf Luke had single-handedly chewed through the combined 12HP of a Y-wing with no shields and Stunned Pilot, a 1hp Z-95, and brought a Y-wing down to 1 hp. Luke was on 2 hull and a shield. (I hadn't flown Wedge or Biggs particularly well, because I didn't realise how hard an AutoHog can hit at range 1. That's a lesson I'm not forgetting.)
Anyway, Luke was going for a final joust with this Y-wing, I was preparing my victory dance (http://bit.ly/1r81fv2), and basically what I'm trying to say is I forgot to focus. I rolled 1 damage and a focus, tried to modify but was reminded that I had no token. I was cool with this, I had Lone Wolf, and he had stress from a K-turn, so only a 3/8 chance of evading it anyway. I rerolled from Lone Wolf, got another eye. This rubbed salt in my forgetful wounds, but it was ok, he only had a 3/8 chance of evading. He rolled an evade.
He then fired back, spending his focus to modify his dice causing him to Target Lock Luke, rolled a crit and hit for autoblaster, then rerolled the crit to get a hit, killing Luke.
****.
5 Hours later, I realised he never put any target lock down, and therefore wouldn't have been able to re-roll the crit, meaning Luke could've dodged it. Then who knows what might've happened.
Now, I just wanted to check, is it socially acceptable to ring your friend at 11pm to tell them that actually they lost a game of Plastic Spaceships? ![]()
