FCS Clarification

By Asmodi, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Just need a little clarification on FCS due to something someone mentioned on the forums about each part of a players turn having a very specific meaning.

I would normally play FCS as roll Attack, defender rolls to evade any hits, resolve damage, apply FCS.

However on reading the interpretations of each part of the players turn then and with what it says on the FCS card "After you perform an attack" this would leave me to conclude that it should be

"Attack", apply FCS, defender rolls to evade any hits, resolve damage.

Which is correct?

TIA

An attack is defined as following all of the steps in the attack phase.

Attacker rolls dice

Defender modifies attack dice.

Attacker modifies attack dice.

Defender rolls defence dice.

Attacker modifies defence dice.

Defender modifies attack dice.

FCS kicks in once you have completed all of these steps.

An attack means all seven steps of the combat sequence, listed on page 10 of the rulebook. FCS resolves after the attack is complete, i.e. after the deal damage step.

Thanks all.

I was doing it right in the first place.
