Was Dual Shot (dark heresy) done away with...

...because from the reading in DH it seems redundant... and stupid.

So, I checked the OW CRB which I hold as being better in all ways and saw that it was not there.

I believe so -- all attack types were "synchronised" in that you now only have Normal, Semi-Auto and Burst for ranged, and Normal, Swift, and Lightning Attack for melee, all mirroring the same modifiers from their respective counterpart.

It's certainly an improvement over this aspect of DH and more consistent this way, even though personally I would have wished they'd gone the last step, too, and come up with a singular rule for any number of additional attacks.

As for Dual Shot and Dual Strike DH, I would not consider them entirely redundant, just ... needlessly unwieldy.

Thanks! That is what I figured. We happen to be playing DH using OW rules (far superior in my personal opinion) and I just needed that clarified. I also posted in the DH forums and got more in depth applications of Dual Shot. And while they make more sense and clarify things, it seems like a worthless talent.

They used to have that in WHFRP2e with the attack stat, which indicated just how many additional swift/lightning/ranged attacks you could do. IMO a mistake to scrap it, since a capped maximum of swift/lightning attacks is a good balancing function.

Are you referring to "Dual Strike?"

Nah, it didn't actually have an extra talent for that. It had universally applicable rules which let you simulate dual and lightning strikes without having to invest XP in talents; instead, you invested XP in additional attacks and used them however you liked. An off hand weapon gives you a free parry action, but otherwise, a dual strike would require an attack stat of two in the first place.
