I think that the next wave is going to be out at the time of ep7 with ships from that movie. What say everyone?
guess at next wave
Eh, I'd like to wait until VII is released (or at least a bit more spoiled) before we start seeing their ships in X-wing. I'm expecting a bomber Aces or something.

Sorry... couldn't help it. I suffer from PDPNWS (Post Dramatic Predict the Next Wave Syndrome).
I think there is zero chance of FFG not releasing another wave of minis for this game until December.
Wave 7 will be out for GenCon and will not include ships from Episode VII.
Didn't Alex state or at least hint strongly in his interview that Wave 7 is pretty much done?

I'm more inclined to think that Alex's little hint about bomber buffs was related to some generic bomb and ordnance related upgrades rather than new bomber pilots - and that the next wave will be either mostly or all Scum - as they are quite a bomby faction and are probably the most in need of some fleshing out.
Not that I wouldn't like to see some new bomber pilots, and some new Y-wing pilots, and a new BTL-S3 title for the Y-wing, plus specialist crew, and some new TIE pilots, and a little update to the X-wing
But there's no real urgency for that
Something like a Rebel Aces with the remaining Azzameen family, with ships that can be used by all three factions (but especially Scum). Ace would be a Rebel pilot, Antan would be Imperial, and Aeron and the generic would be S&V.

Azzameen Aces? ![]()
Ace-ameens?
My guess is a "hijacked" theme where rebels have pilot cards allowing stolen tie fighters and imperials will have access to x wing prototypes that they kept from the rebels, each having the respective faction's color scheme. (e.g.-xwings will be dark blue and black, ties will be white and orange-red)

That would be a great idea for an aces pack a little later down the line - but we've already got 1 member of the family and there's a whole bunch of more recognizable - and therefore potentially more marketable - scum characters that might want a look in first.
Dengar, 4-LOM, Bossk, and Zuckuss spring to mind
Sigh... I would like to see a Stealth X-Wing, but thats just my wacky personal choice. Maybe with a Jaina Solo pilot card and cloak and decloak ability, along with focus activated shadow bombs. That would be cool.

I would be all for that. Also put Corran Horn in a X-Wing too.

I can see that for Rebels vs. S&V, but not Rebels vs. Imperials. After all, the Imperials own the majority of the fighter production, so what need would they have to field Rebel ships? The Rebels, on the other hand, have more of a need for parity in numbers, while the S&V types probably don't mind where their ships come from.

To be honest I can't see them doing anything of the sort - ever
The mix-and-match approach of Scum fits with their style, but even then the only crossovers are with older outdated ships (even Slave 1 is over 20 years old in the period the game is set in and has had to be constantly modified to keep it competitive)
But Rebels and Imperials have very unique identities - start mixing ships between factions and you just end up with a dull homogenized mess

Agreed. If you wanna fly an X-wing, play Rebels. Don't start mixing things
Bomber aces pack.. Rebel Ys get EPts full body shrouds and crew slots.. ordnance gets an FAQ reducing cost by one across the board. new mine that has IFF ability.

There's no such thing as too much love for the Y-Wing - a BTL-B miniature with the hull plating still in place would be out of place period-wise, but I really wouldn't care too much - I'd still want one
Crew slots should be restricted to specialist Y-Wing only gunners tho.

it wouldn't be THAT out of place considering they got Z-95s still flying around as well.. also along those lines why doesn't the X wing have a bubble canopy????

Yeah - there's bound to be a few pristine Old Republic Y-Wings left in service somewhere - but who cares how they justify it just so long as they make one ![]()
They could make the ARC 170's. I know they are old but the Z-95's were made before the ARC 170's!
Prediction: Wave 7 will be something surprising.
I'm telling ya:

Wave 7 is most definitely already in the Fabrication process and the developers are in late play testing of everything for wave 8 and for any potential extra releases this year.
People kick around guesses all the time on FFG'S time line but in practical guessing they have to be 10 months solid ahead of what we are drooling over right now.
In any case, I think Wave 8 will be the wave of the bomb. Maybe another cloaking ship.
Prediction: Wave 7 will be three ships. One shared by Rebels and S&V, one shared by Imperials and S&V, and the last one being exclusive to S&V. That would put all 3 factions at the same number of ships.

I believe they already said that Wave 7 will be ordnance heavy...
Also, we aren't going to get shared ships. Do you want only 2 pilots for a given ship per faction?
Edited by SithborgNot saying this is likely, but ideally I'd like the next wave to be four small ships similar to some of the early waves. It'd be awesome if it was 2xScum, 1xRebel and 1xImperial(a little something for everyone and keep the Scum momentum going!)
Speaking of 'shared ships', is there any reason that the YT's couldn't be repurposed as Scum ships?...they're not true Rebel military ships but freighters piloted by known 'scoundrels'!
