Here are my 2 predictions.

• An all scum wave giving more S&V ships to the faction to make them compete easier with the original 2 factions.
• 2 S&V ships with 1 Rebel and 1 Imperial.

I hope NOT. I don't play Rebels and I don't play Scum. I really don't think they are going to mix and match factions.

There's nothing compelling for the Rebels, so I think they will skip them in the next wave. I expect the xg-1 assault gunboat, and something for scum (skipray blastboat maybe). Rebels will get an aces pack, hopefully for x-wings. I don't think x-wings are broken like everyone else does, I just want more x-wing pilots

Once the movie comes out, there'll probably be more options for the Rebels and they'll get something new then.

So, I was just thinking I hope they'll add Juno Eclipse as both rebel and imperial, since later on, she was supposed to be a rebel general of all things. Might be neat, though I don't know what ship she would have at that point. Personally, I think they should add her in a TIE fighter aces pack, with specially painted TIE fighters to match the interceptors, then we could have the Black Eight squadron.

the imperial gunboat (XG-1?) is my only firm prediction for the next wave.

I would like to see some rebel Y-wings with EPT as well.

An X-Wing variant with the s-foils closed, Rogue Squadron pilot cards and some cute new astromechs.

Aww man, now I have to buy the Raider. I really didn't want to fork over money for a huge ship I'll never play with, but I can't resist Juno.

If I were a betting man, I'd go all in to say the next Imperial bomber will be the Scimitar Assault Bomber. As someone who has followed Star Wars, in all of its incarnation since I was a kid in the early 1990s, I'm almost certain.

It's easy to model, has a definitively Imperial look, and would go along way to making ordanace viable for Imperials.

My rough predictions: the middle ground between a B-wing and a Tie Bomber, with enough improvements to make it worthwhile. My guess is heavy hull w/ moderate shielding (4 hull/3 shields or 5/2), 2 attack dice, 2 agility 1 crew slot, system upgrade, and a loadout and dial similar to the Tie Bomber.

Since it's bigger than most of the Tie series, perhaps they'd trade the roll over for a boost or an evade, but I'm thinking boost on a bomber would be a longshot.

They'll be either a new crew member (Bombardier) or System Upgrade that enhances ordanace to the point that its usable. If its a crew member, it'll be neutral, and we'll see a 2-seater (BTL-S3) title for the Y-wing so they can take that crew member as well.

I'll also state for the record that I believe either the Raider or Wave 7 will see Thrawn (leaning towards Vice Admiral rank vs Grand Admiral) as a crewmember, with a slight possibility of Captain Pellaeon or Admiral Dalaa.

I would like to see some rebel Y-wings with EPT as well.

If Horton Salm didn't get an EPT, I can't think of anyone in the movies, video games, or the EU who would warrant one. A long shot might be Gold 5 (Pops) from ANH.

Pragmatically, it sells models & cards. Goes back to the fact that we can't buy cards without buying models.

And on the other hand, they have to fill out the wave, and if it has any kind of focus on bombers, chances are we'll see atleast one, possibly one on each side. Though the Alliance technically already has two, where the Imperials only have one. Assault Gunboat or Scimitar, but I'm leaning heavily towards the Scimitar. I figure the Gunboat would be more of a missile platform than a dedicated bomber.

Sure, but you don't need to make another bomber for the same faction to buff the bomber that it's already got.

Just as you don't make TIE Interceptors less vulnerable to turrets by releasing a replacement for the TIE Interceptor.

Because that's kind of the opposite of pragmatic.

What you do instead is put upgrades which deal with their shortcomings into a couple of new expansions instead.

I'm more inclined to think that the bomber buff Alex hinted at in his recent interview will be an ordnance buff rather than a bomb buff - a new bomb or three would be nice of course, but bombs work just fine and don't require any special attention - it's the capabilities of the Bomber as an ordnance platform that are in need of a boost.

And that's because of a problem with the general mechanic and cost of ordnance - not through some kind of glaring inadequacy with the Bomber that puts it in line for a direct replacement.

So a new bomber that doesn't address the issue of ordnance is a waste of time and effort - a new bomber that does address the issue creates 2 ships which both fill the same gamespace within the faction - which is also a waste of time and effort.

Something along the lines of the Gunboat for the Imps (which I'm not a particular fan of - but I do appreciate its potential in filling some gaps in the imperial line-up) and the Rhombus of Death for Scum are probably better candidates.

You are correct, my apologies, I was using the term in a traditional role-based meaning. I was thinking along the lines of small-base ships that can carry multiple peices of ordnance; ie: B-wings, Y-wings and Tie Bombers. I didn't account for the Firespray and VT.

We'll see how things turn out, hopefully sooner rather than later down the road. I just feel like things will be addressed by packaging it with a new model instead of an aces pack like they did with the B-wing/A-wing.

I'm leaning towards this because of how other cards have been handled. You have to get the Raider if you want the T/A upgrade, the several Starvipers if you want Autothrusters on Interceptors, and for several waves you had to get multiple copies of the Lambda if you wanted Advanced Sensors.

Regardless of which direction they choose to address it, I've got a gut feeling any ordnance fix will (initially) be packaged with a new model.
