Rebel List (Advice Welcome)

By DAMAGE, in X-Wing Squad Lists

YT-2400 (Dash Rendar)-36pts. HWK-290 (Jan Ors)-25pts.

Heavy Laser Cannon-7pts. Determination-1pt.

Outrider Title-5pts. C-3PO-3pts.

Lando Calrissian-3pts. Ion Cannon Turret-5pts.

Wingman-2pts.

Z-95 Headhunter-12pts.

Jan boosting the amount of damage die Dash can do is the focus of the list. The Z-95 is fodder to absorb attacks with so Jan lives at least a round longer.

Please review. Looking for any improvements I can make.

It messed up the format when I posted. The upgrades on the left are for the YT-2400 and the ones on the right are for the HWK-290. Wingman is on the YT-2400. Apologies for the crap format.

Wha....How did you......

Dash + HLC + Outrider + Lando + Wingman

Jan + Determination + C3P0 + ICT

Bandit

Well, you have difficulties against any form of Control fleet, but it's interesting.

I might trade Determination + C3P0 for R2DCrew, myself.

Biggest flaw: Once Dash is dead, you're absolutely toast. Weakness against Alpha-Strike fleets, Glass Cannon fleets, and Assassin-Flankers (e.g. Whisper, Corran, et c.)

Of course, it'l take a while to eat through that 10 hp, during which you'll be operating at peak efficiency, but once you lose Dash, you've lost the match entirely.

why would you put wingman on Dash?? Argh.

Jan can't keep up with a fast moving and boosting Dash. Plus you're giving up two actions (PTL) for potentially non if you take greens with Jan. Second, whaaaat, Lando? Those green dice man. Oh man. This is just a weird list. I don't like it much.

I have something very similar. Using Jan with Wingman. This negates Rebel Captive slightly as that is a HARD counter to the YT2400 line. Again, Jan has a hard time keeping up. I pull it out only for casual play. And the Bandit imo is worth its weight in gold. Don't drop it.

Dracon: It is an odd list to run. With all the damage that Dash can put out, it should make a game...interesting...in the initial round to exchange fire. Should always have a target lock by then and the Jan can give that 1 extra die. Thanks for the R2 crewman idea though. I will try it a few times with each combo and see which performs better.

Blail: I don't plan on charging forward with this list. It will move at the speed best capable while being able to keep Jan in range. As for Lando, I have amazing luck with him. Not sure why...but I do. I'm hoping it will work out correctly in the end and I will be able to wipe out large ships with Dash while I control the movement of smaller ships with the Ion Cannon Turret, setting them up to be taken out by the Z-95. Thanks for the flaw points though. I will be able to judge where and how I need to move them to make them more efficient.

I would have to guess you want Lando for the possible extra evade? Because if its focus you want why not a rec spec? It's always gonna work... In my opinion, lando on dash is wasting dash natural ability to ignore obstacles because if for some reason you do run into one your going to barrel off it 100% of the time. I'd take Leebo crew or engine upgrade...

How about

Dash, Predator, mangler cannon, Lando, Outrider, Experimental Interface. (54)

Jan, VI, Ion Cannon and Nien Numb (32)

Bandit (12)

2 points left over.

Pros. No donut, Still 4 shots with Jan and a 1 or 2 reroll from predator, better control with Jan being a 10. Nien Numb helps Jan become faster and shed her stress better.

Cons. Stress, makes Dash more predictable(but losing the donut will help with that). Rebel captive with Jan shooting first negates her ability (but you already have that problem anyway)

Or

Replace Predator and Mangler on Dash with Decoy and HLC. You get the 5 shots back, and the donut but there could be some good advantages to suddenly making dash a 10 with decoy.

Depends on how you want to fly it.

Demoses: I have amazing luck with Lando. He hasn't failed me yet so I keep taking him as a crew member to add more...versatility, I guess?

Trubble: I am playing with what I currently have. I will attempt it with the list and its variant when I acquire the Predator and Nien Numb upgrade cards to see how it works.

To all: I did get a chance to battle test this list the other night. Used it in a free-for-all match against Scum and Imperial. As we were all attacking one another, I was able to control movement of most enemy ships that threatened Jan with the Ion Cannon. As for Dash, I rolled consistently well with Lando giving him 2 evade ALMOST every action. I didn't have need to target lock since Jan was boosting his attack power to 5 die total in the combat phase. I won in the end, albeit barely with 1 hull point left on both Dash and Jan.

I will be looking forward to trying some of these variant setups though. Thanks everyone for the advice.
