Just became available today. Both are available for $33.49 a piece.
CSI has official FFG Xwing Playmats in stock
My FLGS has had them since S&V came out. They are neat, but nothing special, really. About the same feel as most of the other mousepad type mats.
Just a couple days too late, for me. Ended up ordering one for that much on eBay, because I really needed something better to play on
I want one, but am concerned about the slipperiness, based upon the experiences I have had with other neoprene/mousepad material mats. Anyone found out a good way to add texture to fabric to alleviate this problem? I want to fix the mat, but require everyone start putting "grippy" bumpers under their dozens of ships.
I have noticed some Krylon sprays and other arts and crafts materials to "texture" fabric with a clear coat. Am tempted to try it on some other fabric to see if works and doesn't leave it sticky/tacky.
Any other experience would be appreciated. Would love to have nice portable mat.
FFG is so late to the game with these
I'm probably going to get a death star one so I can have two to line up for epic play.
wish they would make an epic sized one....
Exercise equipment mat is still much more appealing I think, especially since you get 2 game mats for ~$20.
I have a friend who prints them out because he works at a printing shop. Really good quality, any image you want, 10 bucks each. Some of the hubble deep field pictures he uses are so amazing when there are X-wings and TIE interceptors sitting atop them.
I still like black 12 by 12 inch ceramic tiles...

If tiles were a good idea, they'd have kept their original idea ![]()
Though ceramic is probably a lot better than cardboard
How bump resistant are they compared to the GF9 mats? Are the play side of these sticky to or just the underside?

Your friend needs to print me some.

Oh, if X-wing didn't have exact spacing requirements (3 by 3 feet, 3 by 6) i'd still be using tablecloth. The tiles I got to enforce size requirements as per tourny and game standards.

Just use a tape measure and masking tape!

I am all about that crazy Epic, and I do the wider game area because it looks better and gives me more room to have fun. I do not adhere to all of the official rulings, unless I like them.

And if I can see the lines in a grid pattern in a tournament setting, I would ask to change tables. I don't want a grid on the playing field. It is one of the reasons they stopped the tile game board from coming out.
Hmm.... getting a couple... might wait for Mage Wars Arena to come out so I can get it and 2 mats at the same time for free shipping though.
