Marvel's Princess Leia #1 just came out and one of my co-hosts over on the Jodo Cast wrote up a quick review of it.
If you're interested give it a read.

I picked up one of the variant covers. not bad, but I'm not sure if it's a title i'll continue to buy.
New Marvel comics are announced ... ...
STAR WARS
STAR WARS: DARTH VADER
STAR WARS: PRINCESS LEIA
An obvious troll post, but honestly, the character just doesn't resonate with me. She's a better supporting character than a lead, if you ask me.
I'm not a fan of the Charicaturized version. I like the art to look good and not goofy, kid level. I like for the comic cell to look like it could be a movie still, with clarity, colour, readable emotions instead of a cartoonie emoji face. I was a fan of the DH Star Wars Legacy for this reason and Lazarus.

Not resonanting with you is one thing (tastes vary, after all), but I'm confused how you can say that she's a better supporting character than a lead. She's the number 2 Rebel after Mon Mothma! In a very real sense, Leia is what seperates the Rebellion from a pirate group or gang.
Again, that may not be to your taste, but in a very real sense, the Rebellion itself is a support to her leadership.

This is exactly why she makes a better supporting character than a lead character. People in leadership positions rarely actually DO anything themselves, they direct others to do it. A story about your main character sitting behind the lines sending people out on missions that then happen off camera isn't typically a very good story. Honestly, Leia really had no business going with the strike team to Endor, but she was a main character, so she had to, and we accept that. but having her routinely doing stuff like that, while supposedly a high ranking leader in the rebellion, stretches suspension of disbelief.
The Rebels ARE a pirate group and a gang. The same way Robin Hood's band are pirates and outlaws. They're criminals, war criminals even, in every sense of the word, but heroic. They're fighting the 'good fight' as far as they're concerned. But whatever. Don't wanna argue about that.
Leia's exactly where she should be, handing out medals and puttering about command centres, in my opinion. And I agree, putting her on the Endor mission was a mistake, but Solo's mistake to make. He wanted someone to grab and kiss once the shield was down. Had that Stormtrooper had shot her in the head and not the arm, Solo would've realized (too late) that she's better off behind a desk somewhere. Flying around the galaxy, waiving her little pistol around's silly. IMO.

In Jedi, we see Leia:
Win a stare down with Jabba
Get within minutes of actually getting herself and Han out of Jabba's palace
Murder Jabba while she's actually in chains, with access to nothing else but those chains
Out fly the biker scouts
Befriend the Ewoks
Shoot those the stormtroopers off Han's back- While she is nursing the aforementioned arm injury
She's kind of awesome. Shesya rock star. She's an action hero.
And being an action her on is what she is _second_ best at. But when she's done making the plans, it's time for her to go implement them.
I agree with the non-plausibility argument of the naysayers, but I think Leia is awesome and can totally carry a lead role if the story calls for it.
Other than her political position making her too important for the action-initiative story, I don't see whe she shouldn't be the main character. What else about her disqualifies?
Leia takes Luke's place in one of the Force Unleashed dlc's. Granted it never really happened, it was still pretty fun to fight Jedi Leia.
Ugh I miss that game. I like the scene with Han and Chewy the best.
I'm contemplating getting into these comics, though I'm not much of a comic reader. I am a SW lore buff, though. Is this series doing the SWU justice, so far?
What if Marvel made one about every character from the movies?
Star wars: C3PO
Star wars: General Veers
Star wars: Lobot
Star wars: That one dude from the Cantina.
Also props to marvel for not putting Leia in the Jabba Slave Outfit for the cover.
Nice cover art, but I Wish it was drawn by J. Scott Campbell.
* I'd actual buy that one.

Veers might get some love but Star Wars: Lobot would be the top selling comic book of all time.
So that ship clearly has room for both a crew slot and an astromech. Crazy X-Wing expansion prediction ahoy!
She runs off to do something against the wishes of the Rebel High Command. Dodonna seems to outrank her here.
Also this comic is only going to be like 5 or 6 issues. So This just covers one little story of Leia.
