Dace Bonearm

I have yet to see some love for the control list lover's dream HWK pilot. I'm considering running something like this:

+ Blaster Turret (4)

Kavil (24)

+ VI (1)

+ Autoblaster Turret (2)

Syndicate Thug (18)

+ Ion Cannon Turret (5)

Syndicate Thug (18)

+ Ion Cannon Turret (5)

I always thought the Ion Cannon was underwhelming, despite running it in almost every list I've run in the past month, because of it only dealing out one damage. Even the best control list needs extra damage to win games, and thats where Dace comes in. Thoughts?

Drea Renthal-btl, ion cannon

Bandit (x3)- ion pulse missles

You are going to have a hell of a time dealing with stress on Drea and Dace.

I think your big challenge with Dace is that he needs an action to be able to fire his turret, he gets a stress from using his ability and doesn't have a lot of options when it comes getting rid of stress.

Not a fan of ABT on HWKs. It limits you to only ever firing at range one, or making a 1-dice primary attack

Dace's ability can work off of his own ion (only condition is that an enemy ship gets an ion token) and it only works once (stress restriction). Imo, it's best to view him as an ion turret that does double damage

To that end, definitely recommend an ion turret (duh) and the security droid (you're going to be doing green manuevers every turn, ideally, so you might as well get an action-independent TL out of it)

Agreed - it seems wierd not to put an Ion Cannon Turret on Dace Bonearm given his ability. It saves you actions, which in turn leaves them to modify the turret shot, which makes for more pain.

If you want to add a bit of extra punch, then for crew you could either give him Greedo (for ion cannon criticals) or a K4 security droid (if he's stressed, he'll be pulling green manouvres, so he might as well get a free target lock for doing so).

What about using Wired pilot skill with Dace to give him a boost since he will be stressed a lot?

Big thing is dealing with stress on dac i haveny flown the the scum hwk i usally run rebel hwk with nin numb

Not sure about feedbacks anymore. I love ignoring dice, but you need a lot of spam for feedback to add up.

With ion control forcing the enemy's hand, I think you could be better off focusing on raw damage rather than feedbacks.

the ICT btl-a4 thug is probably a no brainer; maybe the Special-K fighter can provide a good angle too?

Wired isn't great, but for one point it's actually a very decent little defensive bonus

you probably won't be using it with K4, but defensive focus re-rolls can be lifesaving (provided they don't cost 4 points...Flight Instructor)

I've had fun with Dace - Ion - K4 - Engine.

Use your action to boost to keep in Range, preferable range 2 and/or slip an arc or two and still have your attack dice modified thanks to K4. Reliably dealing 2 damage and an Ion is pretty sweet and I found the engine great for survivability. Can be especially great for the round after that first engagement where it may well allow you to get behind and stay behind the ion'd guy. Of course enemy turrets won't give a **** but you just go the focus route instead then.

Weighs in at a hefty 35 points without even having an elite talent or title on him and it's still a HWK at the end of the day so prone to going squish. It's probably not top tier competitive (not brave/stupid/good enough to fly it when there are prizes at stake) but it is good fun and the guys I've flew against hated Dace with a passion after.

IG88 B + Veteran Instincts + Fire Control System + Ion Cannon + Autothrusters

Drea Renthal + Twin laser Turret + Unhinged astromech.

I've tried a couple variations with the upgrades and taking Drea out for a cheaper Ywing with TLT and Unhinged. So far I like this one the best.
