Oh lovely. Another Heinlein novel is going to be wrecked
It will not wreck the novel. It will probably be a bad movie but the book will remain intact.
Predestination wasn't a bad adaptation
And say what you will about Starship Troopers (would you like to say more?) but it did bring the book back to the foreground
Singer isn't a bad director it could of been worse.
Superman returns isn't bad just really dull, and his X-Men films are solid.
I can think of alot of directors that are worse, it'll all come down to the screen play.
The Starship Troopers movie wasn't bad in it's own right. Movies never do justice to books. I thought Ender's Game was a good movie; they covered the important parts of the book. But to cover everything you'd have to have a 16 hour movie.
In my thoughts, movie versions are never as good because we already have the picture of the book in our head. The characters, ships, scenery, look like how we imagined them. There is no bad acting, special effects, etc. So when we see the movie it'll never live up to the standards that we already have in our mind's eye.
Bet they ignore the lower gravity on the Moon though
Wow, they've been trying to do this one for ages and ages. I am curious, but the talent involved, though very proficient filmmakers, doesn't seem to me like they're going to do more than an in-name only adaptation.
He better not eff it up or he'll have my dad to answer to. "The Moon Is a harsh mistress" is his fave Heinlejn novel.
Could be worse: Could Be JJ Abrahms and then we couldn't see the movie for the lenseflares.
I wish Stanley Kubrick was still around. He was pretty good when it comes to sci-fi movies about the moon.
