How are people running StarVipers? I haven't had a go yet, but I'm thinking about running two - Guri takes Lone Wolf, Virago, Fire Control System and Autothrusters, he flanks, going away on his own and getting in close to the enemy. Xizor takes Calculation and Autothrusters, and two Binayre Pirates (one with Hotshot Blaster, one with Feedback Array) to take his damage for him.

What do people think? Sound effective?

How's everyone else using (or planning to use) them?

I've been gushing about this list enough, but suffice it to say that no one gives a **** about bumping/obstacles/maneuvering in strange ways so long as your positioning is solid. It is up there as one of the most fun experiences I have ever had in this game (right up there with the first time Stress Wes tagged a named phantom and then murdered it in cold blood next turn :lol: )

Otherwise, I want to try Predator Guri w/two title Ion Thugs and one Unhinged Auto-blaster Thug (no title).

I don't see any way to run more than one Viper effectively because I'm not a fan of the generics and the characters have anti-synergy (at least, the Star Viper makes for the absolute worst target in all of scum for Xizor's ability, 2nd only to the HWK or a loaded Scyk). If there were an easy way to include an effective ship with intelligence agent (There isn't, both the HWK and Firespray have only one crew slot and lack boost/roll innately) I'd run two PS 1s with Thrusters and play all sorts of havoc.

I doubt this one will be popular, but I built in hopes of wiping my buddy's Decimator off the board. he tends to fly it with a few TIE's so the Y-Wings will be in trouble after the first engagement.

As mentioned above specifically to go after my friends Decimator. He creams me with every list I play every time he puts it on the table. The idea is the Ys Ion him at range, he drifts 1, they get within 1 range unload the ATs. Then hopefully survive another turn. In the meantime Guri will try to tangle with the TIEs. Any ideas to make it better?

imo, the title is all Ys will need to tangle with fatties (even if one damage gets through with the normal attack, you've doubled their damage output). the Advanced protos are a bit excessive, imo, esp in cost (best way to beat turrets: more ships)

Yesterday I went for two enforcers with just autothrusters and Kath with predator and security droid. I managed to beat a list with whisper, echo and backstabber. Their dial is great for getting behind the enemy, and knowing Noone wants to get directly behind kath and running her close to the board edge means you can have a good idea of where they'll go. Once whisper found herself in range 1 of kaths rear arc it was game over.

Here is a list I am currently working on sop far it seems to fly pretty well.

If you are taking Accuracy Corrector you shouldn't be spending points on abilities that require you to take actions to support your attacks. Accuracy Corrector frees up your actions for movement and defense.

personal preference is straight predator and advanced sensor on both Star Viper characters

especially on Guri, where you can bump/boost/barrel and still get re-rolls and potentially get a focus on her shot

Predator and adv. sensor does sound good. After you posted (which I am glad you did) I took a tougher look at acc.corrector and calculation. Someone even mentioned on here taking an action to support attacks (waste of points) I agree. I also dropped the Adv. torps on the Ys and spent the points instead on engine upgrades. Thanks for the help guys. Hopefully I trash that Decimator this weekend !
