I honestly hadn't seen them before you posted this up.

Heh, new art for an old race. WEG had them as well. Radio-sensitive social hive bugs that are the workers/engineers for Kuat Drive Yards.
I was expecting Verpine to be in the Technician career book, glad to see they are coming already!

I keep harboring this secret hope that FFG cuts WEG a big fat check and reprints (well, basically rewrites and updates for the aughts) Strikeforce Shantipole. That game was seriously awesome and I'd love to see a modern spin on it.

Who says they won't be?
"Fly Casual" and this both have the Quarren. Entirely possible the Technician book will have the Verpine in there too.
I still want a big can of RAID.

You're right, I only meant it was the first book that came to mind I was expecting them in.
In the EU, isn't it said the Verpine - along with Ackbar - created the B-Wings?
Or am I mistaken?

You are correct.
Once I got started I couldn't stop I did fourteen. Some of these can be achieved by reflavoring/reskinning humans, but I wanted them on the list anyway.
1. Arkanian
2. Miraluka
3. Jawa
4. Neti
5. Besalisk
6. Kaleesh
7. Zeltron
8. Togorian
9. Verpine10. Echani
11. Whipid
12. Feeorin
13. Ugnaught
14. Gungan
Secret wish: Sith Pureblood
Only 13 to go!

And it's not like we haven't seen races printed in AoR get re-printed in a later EotE sourcebook.
The Quarren just seems like a timing issue, particularly if what KRKappel said is true about Fly Casual being pushed back and this book being pushed forward.
when I saw a Kallidahin/Polis Massans in "The Birthing room" for RotS, I thought it was a droid.
The Verpine in the book is a lot more spikey then I remember in WEG

Actually they kinda look like Shy Guys from the Mario Warfare You-tube series.

No kidding.
Tierfon Rebel outpost.... Never heard of that before (except in the old D6 Star Wars Sourcebook, so I'm actually really excited to see it again)

They also have their own shipwright, albeit a much smaller one, which designed the V-19 Torrent fighters from The Clone Wars (It appeared in both cartoon serieses, and some of the Clone Wars era comics and novels) and along with Ackbar they designed the B-Wings.
It's Jeff Goldblum!

And the much maligned J9 Worker Drone droid. I am very keen to see these guys get official rules and gear too (mainly the gear though).

Shattergun anyone?
"The Defiant Core base, constructed out of a salvaged Star Destroyer from the Clone Wars, is dedicated to hindering Imperial forces and exposing their abuses."
If it's a repurposed Venator, and they provide a map/detailed pictures for it, I'm going to faint when the book is out. I mean, appart from Venator-class, there's only the Victory-class (and maybe the Acclamator-class, but it's explicitly a predecessor to the Star Destroyer line).

I dunno, most of the Verpine shown on the page at http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Verpine look to me to be about the same amount of “spikey” as that one.
