So, after plowing through much of the rules, here is my verdict:
- The game is highly complex and offers a multitudiness of options. In addition with the huge amount of tokens, counters and cards, this is a definite buyer and high player.
- The setups are very specific. The replay value is based on the combination of different facets of the game, not necessarily on game mechanics. Thus, the replay value is limited, albeit on a very high scale.
- The mechanics employed make it very easy to release expansions that can extend the game on multiple levels, thus increasing its replay value. This is a great bonus to it, since I believe I personally will be expansion-hungry by mid next year. If FFG keeps on releasing expansions (small boxes suffice, with additional murder cases, the one or other additional detective, personal plots, etc.), this game will be the number one in the box office, so to speak.
Overall, I'd like to hereby hand Kevin a well-deserved cookie, as well as the royalties he gets from me buying the game.
Job VERY well done, Kevin. I can't await playing it.
