Store Championship List Advice

By Deltmi, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I'm attending a store championship this weekend, and wanted to try out this Scum build. On paper, it looks good but I don't know how competitive it will be. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Kavil

+ Blaster Turret

+ R4 Agromech

N'Dru Suhlak

+ Proton Rockets

+ Lone Wolf

Torkhil Mux

+ Ion Turret

Binayre Pirate x 2

I would try to keep Kavil, Mux and Pirates together and have N'Dru flank. I really like Mux's ability and I think it would really disrupt my opponent's flying. Kavil would potentially have 4 attack w/TL each round.

I lik ethat you didnt put much on Twerk...i mean Torkhil. he will be focused down and dead by round two of combat. I havent seen him last much longer than that

If you can squeeze in the points, I would suggest cluster missiles on N'dru Suhlak, That equals 2 4-dice shots in 1 turn for 1 extra point. If what cubby says is true about torkhil dying early on, you could just throw a regular blaster turret on Torkhil and save that point.

N'dru Prot Rockets --> out --> out --> out --> out --> out

Mux's moldy crow title <-- In

The extreme gap in reliability you're getting for those same 3 points is so massive that you could probably fit a Lovecraftian nightmare or two in there

Now flying a non-recon title HWK may sound weird at first, but you're not packing a blaster turret. Really, the title is there to ensure you have defensive focus even after 1.) you spend it on your ion cannon shot 2.) you forfeit your action for whatever reason.

The difference between 2 green dice and a focus is the difference between a Rookie Pilot and Luke Skywalker (that is to say, surprisingly massive)

I like the advice so far. I want to fit Cluster Missiles on N'Dru, but need to decide what to part with...

If you haven't had N'Dru on the table a few times already, I'd leave him at home. That Range 2 bubble is big enough that you'll end up turning his ability off at the worst possible moment--at least, I've done it often enough now that I removed him from my own SC list.

I agree that you need to play close attention on how you fly this list, but having N'Dru on the table will at least make your opponent decide whom to go after first. N'Dru is a big enough threat to turn the attention away from Mux (who I think is the dark horse in this list), but leaving N'Dru alone will bite you in the butt. Keeping N'Dru outside of Range 2 of any friendly will indeed be the challenge.

I admit that I haven't specifically flown N'Dru, but I do have experience flying Z-95s in general.

it's not so bad if you're just flying N'dru as backstabber 2.0

you fly him as some kind of super missile cruiser, though...yeah, it's just not reliable.
