I had that option, but chose to go with the English to make it more intelligible to non-total nerds. Maybe that was a bad call considering I'm making myself a fighter pilot jacket for a made-up TIE interceptor group, but that was my reasoning.

I figured as much. Either way, it works well. The way it's done, it has that Star Warsy flavor while being legible to the beta-nerds.
The High Galactic alphabet was a form of writing in the galaxy. While not as commonly used as Aurebesh, this alphabet was frequently used in signatures and by nobles, and was often associated with snobbery
High Galactic is just English to us. So it makes more sense that elite patch be done in HG. Like, as in our world,lots of patches have Latin.

A patch company called The Studio. It's a little expensive, and has been kind of a hassle to deal with, but they've done a great job on the finished product (from the image they sent), and they're very good at communicating. http://www.thestudio.com
Is there any way you could communicate with them to keep that image as an available patch on their website? That is awesome and I would be highly interested in ordering one. Or taking freebies 
I don't know about whether they can "save" it or not, but I'm looking at maybe increasing my order since so many people have been PMing me about them. If I did that, I'd have to get something for them, because I'm a grad student and not wealthy, but I'd be willing to increase the order to get these out to people.

So, uh, bank error in my favor? Somehow, instead of 7 of these things they sent me 21 of them. So, if you want one, just PM me and I'm sure we can work something out. I have no need for 21 181st fighter group patches, though it is kind of cool to have a giant stack of them sitting in front of me.

Speaking of which I ordered my TIE suit from anovos a couple days ago, + my scum arrived yesterday! (hoping to get campaign started fri).
i think i got mine off some ebay store, it was 501st approved. The armour is the stuff thats really hard to source though.
