I am going to be running the beginner game tonight for some friends, but I was going to give them the characters from the box as well as the bonus ones on the site to choose from. It seems that the ones from the box have ties to Teemo the Hutt, but the others have ties to the Pyke crime syndicate. How can I make this work so that they all have a reason for working together?

Hmm...are you talking about the Under a Black Sun pregens? Sinoca, Matwe, Grabow, etc? Under a Black Sun is a one-shot, convention-style module. The character sheets provided are one page and designed for such an event.

Agreed. These are well laid out portfolios that should fit seamlessly in with the portfolios that came with the base game. They add a bit more flexibility and will give your players more choice as they learn the Star Wars Edge of the Empire system.

I just ran the Escape from Mos Shutta last night, but I used the pre-gens from the core rules (ch-1, matwe, jovel, sinoca, etc.)

I just told the players to ignore the Pike obligation.
