Outer Atlantic Fleet

By Sixwood, in X-Wing Painting and Modification

Thanks !!

For the symbol it's a freehand yes :) really simple !

I have drown the ring with a coin to have a good shape, and after it's just a question of patience :)

A new one ! I ve paint this advanced last year, but i just finish him yesperday ( wings and canopee )

He is darker than my other desert ships but i like him (and he can't wait the raider incoming ! )

That looks really great. I totally would love to play against your desert squadron.

Those are amazing Tie paint schemes. Top notch work. :)

I love the camo effect on the Advanced!

These truly are great! Totally movie quality.

And now for something completely different... Every time I look at Sixwood's avatar I see a sailor with a pipe in his mouth laying on a pillow showing off his hairy chest and weird tatoo. It's kinda creepy.

I dunno, playing against that squad would be hard. All your pilots would bump into his ships JUST so they could get a closer look at the cool paint jobs.

What has been seen... can not be unseen.

WOW

Your Desert Storm Squad looks Amazing.....love those colours.

and good to know the Tie's look good in the Beige/Brown tones. as That is going to be the colour of my Scum and Villainy Tie Fighters.

Your paint schemes and fantastic attention to detail are as inspiring as always.

All the best,

Barry.

Very nicely done. Any chance of a step by step on a next project so we could have a swing at something similar maybe?

Hello ! I will try to do a video next week, i have bought a hawk for that :)

That blue in the cockpit is something else. What colors did you use for it?

For the cockpit i do this :

Macragge Blue

Dark reaper for shading

Coelia greenshade for shading too

Macragge blue after the wash is dry for a lightnining

And finialy some thin line of Teclis Blue

And on all, some gloss varnish :)

I love the skull on the tie advance

Héhé you don't have blog but Tic Toc give me this adress !!!

Excellent your ships is painting like a real professionnal, a big bang for eyes !!!

You done a great job with free hands and cockpit, and all the rest but some détails like the domages panels of the tie or the skull on the tie adv

Merci :P

Wow!

That turned out looking stellar, definitely my favorite defender I've seen thus far.

Haha :)

I'm totally jealous about the ocean and beard. I'm 5 hours from San Diego. And my wife won't let me grow facial hair. #whipped

You're really making me want to get back into detailed model painting. Trying to get my wife to let me spend the cash on a airbrush. #losingmanhood

Wow you have done some very VERY nice work.

That Tie Advanced with the 3 tone desert camouflage is beautiful.

I wish I has the room to set up a painting work station, not to mention the time to actually do thee job.

thanks all :)

Personaly, i prefer painting in the living room, next to the tv, to the family and with the noise :)

And i will never buy an airbrush, i don't like the smooth render !

How do you do the battle damage? Also what color is on those panels? Grey-blue? Thank you

Sorry just realized the post was out of sequence I was regarding the tie fighters on page 4. Thank you

Sixwood: Do you varnish your finished repaints to protect them from ever rubbing off? I just started out and recently finished my first ship, and I am worried that applying some Vallejo Matt Varnish may dull the colors, but I don't want the paintjob to rub off either...

I'm just curious as to what some of the more talented painters here tend to practice when it comes to protecting their work. ;)
