the X-Wing scale- maybe with pens?

I found some screen shots of this and thought they were pretty cool.. they incorporate all the symbols of the people , and Choppers face is in there as well.. cool idea, and a crazy new paint scheme for someone bold and brave.. I just may do one as I have 14 or more TIEs..and it inspired me to finally paint the solar panels on these things.. hahahaah

I was thinking the same thing when I saw it. I'd love to do it, but I have a hard enough time painting a blood stripe on the wings of my TIEs let alone something like this!

You wait someone out there with incredible airbrushing and masking skills as well as some printable decals will get it done.

I'd almost try this if I had a spare TIE. I managed to freehand straight Bloodstripes on 1 of my base Interceptors before aces came out for Soontir. The wings seem straight forward enough but it could be sketchy around the cockpit and the checkers. Almost makes me want to go to B&N to pick up a TIE I saw lurking on the shelf last week.

Decals would make this a lot easier... I desperately want one, but I don't think I've got the talent for it.

Rebel tie fighter expansion - only the ghost crew pilot cards, and a rule that you can only ever field one. Then we'd have a much more capable hand than mine painting it.

Granted, pretty much everyone has a much more capable hand for painting than me, but still...

So yeah...I picked up an 8th (or 9th?) TIE Fighter and started on it today. Don't think much can be done with the wing-roots where the checkers are as it not a smooth surface. Also, not much can be done about the emblem on the bottom as the space is mostly taken up by the peg hole. Certainly not going to be ultra sharp lines and details but should be recognizable. Eventually...like when I regain some eyesight.
