Have a tournament in a week, please help me with my list :)

hello! This is the list I've come up with. I expect swarm lists with 4-6 ships at my local meta, so i built this with that in mind. Let me know what you think! I will have to buy 2 bomber packs if you guys give me thumbs up on the list ;) Thanks in advance!

Oh, we care. We're just rather busy using Autothrusters, Manglers and all the other goodies that have breathed new life into some older ships.

The problem I see with your list is that, though it might do a number on a swarm list, it's going to have issues if it runs into... well, anything else. All of those Assault Missiles become even more overcosted Concussions, and Ruthlessness becomes a waste of points or, worse, might full-on backfire. They actually feel like overkill.

If you're intent on running a swarm with anti-swarm tech, I would pick one of either the double Ruthlessness or the Assault Missiles, drop the other, and add more TIEs. That will still leave you with enough tech to give yourself quite the edge, while leaving you with a strong swarm of your own.

You might get lucky with Assault missiles if you manage that bomber well and as is always the case with Tie Fighters, they are only as deadly as the person controlling them so if you fly them well, like any other Tie Swarm they can be very effective.

I personally think the best way to use Tie Bombers is to use Ion effects. There is nothing a Howlrunner supported Tie Squadron can do better than rip apart ships who's movement you can predict. Right now a lot of players are doing the "eggs in one basket" thing and there are a lot of 50+ point ships being fielded that if you can take out early usually mean the match is yours.

That said I agree with DR4CO, in as a whole its kind of a weak list, I wouldn't expect it to be particularly competitive in a tournament.

If you are expecting a swarm heavy Meta I dare say break out some dual phantom madness, turreted ships are less likely to show up I feel like with AT out now, so if you are expecting the heavy numbers bring some aces. I know this doesn't do much for the list you have above, hmmmm yeah one ship with ruthlessness should be enough, but it also seems like it wont activate that often because you will usually only be throwing two dice. Yeah it may do wonders, but phantoms among a few other things would lay waste to this.

Would definitely break down the bomber into more ties

An auto-thruster interceptor would serve you very well here, though. 2 dice ships hate shooting at 3+ green dice and the Gamma bomber is taking up enough space for a Royal Guard Pilot (PTL + thrusters) or Thurr (V.I + Auto-thrusters)

I dont think you need swarm on howl if you're expecting counter swarm. Your generics are all higher PS anyway, and generally the only larger values you'll see will be in the 9-10 range making swarm a very worthless upgrade.
