Scum and Villiany Ship Dimensions

By jkokura, in X-Wing

Starting to plan a foam order now that Battlefoam has the scum ships up in their custom tray designer.

Anyone able to tell me the height dimensions for the scum ships (Starviper, M3A, IG-2000)? It seems my order of ships won't be here till next week.

Jacob

Dimensions of M3-A

Height: Adorable

Width: Tiny

Length: Amazingly Cute

Battle foam now has S&V

I'm looking for the heights really. Do I need a 1" tray of a 1.5" tray? How tall is the Agressor? Star Viper? I can tell the M3A's height is pretty small.

1.5 for Star Viper I think

But I could measure tonight for sure

Why don't ask the guy who measured the scum ships to build little tuckbox hangars? ;)

These are my tuckbox measures (all mm):

IG-2000

58 x 75 x 18

M3-A

31 x 35 x 13

StarViper

37 x 67 x 28

Does this help?

The aggressor fits easily in 1" deep

The Star Viper might work at 1", but I would be concerned about fragile wing tips, I put mine in 1.5"

The scyk, as you said, is really thin, even 1" deep is too much really.

Some tricks to save space.

the Scyk can stand on end in 1.5" and be fine, so I put mine in tiny ovals that are 1/2" wide by about 1.25" long

Y-wings can also be set on their side in 1.5" foam and only take up a rectangle about .75" thick

I'm getting 1.5" for my S&V tray... once someone local needs to split shipping on a custom Battlefoam order anyway.

I have the vertically stacked Pack 432 bag for X-wing, and you can fit 1x Firespray, 2x StarViper, 2x Aggressor, 4x Scyk, 4x Z-95, 3x Y-wing and 2x HWK on a single tray, with room for a pair of 1.5" square holes for dials or base tokens or whatever. Pretty much the perfect setup for the ships I've ordered.

At some point I'll post the tray designs I have ordered. I'm sure someone else will have a similarly large collection that needs to be mobilized. The only beef I have (aside from some slight alignment issues on my Imperial small ship tray) would be the tightness of the X-wing cutout. Works fine for Z-95s, but I made my own custom shape to more comfortably fit any of the Z, X and E-wings in a single hole, but they didn't use it. So I had to make a few slight modifications to my tray using an Xacto knife, which wasn't ideal.
