Super Starviper Build

By Biophysical, in X-Wing

I had this thought:

Guri 30

Virago 1

Sensor Jammer 4

Opportunist 4

Autothrusters 2

-not sure about an Illicit slot

Total: 41

Very expensive, but very tough. Against higher PS stuff, they'll have to use focus to get through Sensor Jammer, leaving them open to Opportunist. Against lower PS stuff, you've got Barrel Roll and Boost to get out of arcs/get Guri's free Focus. Autothrusters helps preserve HP against long range fire before dashing to Range 1 for Guri's bonus and great short moves. It's expensive, but really tough against a wide range of targets. There's a potential to hit brutally hard at Range 1, too. She would pair up great with a Palob build to strip Focus, I think.

I just build something very similar, except with Advanced Sensors instead of Sensor Jammer, as I figured it would give even more manoevrability when in close. Sensor Jammer is tempting, though...

With two Scum pilots that are able to steal opponents' focus tokens, both Opportunist and Sensor Jammer seem like solid choices.

Plan seems like a gud'un. (that's good one in red neck).

Advanced sensors would seem to have a nice synergy when paired with the inertial dampeners.

Just 1 actually. Leeachos steals one from a friendly.

Nice center piece for a good S&V build. These new ships are at their best when built around the theme of the faction.

You could pair her with Serious to make her even tougher to kill with the re-rolls. They'll almost be forced to kill Serious if they want to put any kind of damage on her.

Super Assassin Guri = 41

Serious = 20

1 Cartel Space w/ Mangler = 20

1 Cartel Space w/ Ion Cannon = 19

= 100

Once Serious goes down she can break formation and continue the hunt. The Heavy Sycks add extra firepower and some control.

If you dropped Opportunist for VI you could also pair her with Leachos + Bodyguard. With the three points you save you can equip her with a Hotshot blaster.

Guri + VI + Title + Sen. Jam. + ATs + Hot Shot = 41

Leachos + Bodyguard = 17

3 X Pirate + Feedback = 42

= 100

Leachos grabs a focus off a poor pirate you Bodyguard for Guri bumping her up to a Phantom level 4 agility.

Now what about Xizor ? Has anyone thought of a super build for him or will this build work for him to?

But both of your lists are missing the absolutely most important part to make this Guri truly nasty: Pelob.

I was going for builds to help keep her alive longer. Palob is another option as well. I just think Palob will get focus down before he could do much though.

Now what about Xizor ? Has anyone thought of a super build for him or will this build work for him to?

Xizor w/ Virago, Autothrusters, Adv Sensors, and either Predator or Outmaneuver

Y-wing w/ Ion Turret and unhinged astromech

3 x Z-95

People don't want to shoot at Xizor until the rest is dead just due to his ability. So, you need to do as much damage as you can with him up front. I think this is good, but you can always go with FCS instead. I still think Adv Sensors lets him Focus or TL and then do a Segnor's Loop.

My strategy against non-big ship chases will be to move forward to engage, but then scramble when the furball happens. If you fly in formation, then people know where Xizor is going to be. Have one Z go right, one left, and one K turn. Let the Y wing slowly turn as it fires. No one will know where Xizor will be. Also, if you boost or barrel roll before you move, who knows where you will end up? Might make it hard for even a Soontir Fel to try to guess.

I've been thinking about a similar build.

Only thing different is I change the Y-Wing for Torkhil with a Ion Turret. His ability pairs really well with Predator and can keep the Phantom in check. Meanwhile, I think that 3 Z is enough to soak the damage for Xizor until you reach the end game.

Just tried that Guri build on Vassal and went against a dual IG list (and won). I brought 3 binayre pirates and a thug + ion. The blocking I could get through with that list was nice. Guri took a target lock in advance and threatened to bump & still get a focus for a devastating range 1 shot. She was ignored all game. Opportunist might not be the best card ever, but it's a clever usage here.

I'm not sold on that Guri, but if you want to abuse opportunist then your illicit should be hot shot

Personally, both my Vipers are getting Predator as an absolute priority, followed by Virago for advanced sensors (imo, securing the focus is more important than the TL off of FCS, which we can emulate with Predator anyway, and because both Vipers have to be close to ships--> Guri to enemies and Xizor to friendlies <-- and I'd rather not lose my action to bumps or lose the opportunity to pre-segnor's boost/roll), followed by auto-thrusters for guarantees and **** turrets

The illicit, if anything, should probably just be dampeners. They turn Guri into a pain in the ass blocker, which can secure her ability :)

Yeah, it's kind of a cheapish reusable APT with Guri's ability.

I like it. It would be better vs. Phantoms. The Y-wing does have more hull, though. I think at tournament that I'll have to do Torkhil.

I like Xizor with VI, AT, AdvS, and inertial dampeners, with Autoblaster turret Y-wings flying support. The Y-wings are very bulky for their points, so you can offload damage to them easily, and not usually a higher threat than Xizor. That's good because you want Xizor to be the most threatening piece in your squad, so that his ability comes into play.

The autoblasters can help to corral phantoms, and Xizor at PS9 is also a real threat to phantoms, either moving after them, with enough repositioning ability to have a good chance of getting a shot on them, or shooting before the phantoms. Meanwhile, his autothrusters make him very effective against turrets, although the Y-wings will not be so happy to see the likes of SuperDash.

Im still looking for a good build for a themed Xizor and Guri list with using either headhunters or Y-wings for squadmates.

so far im working on this build

Xizor

Outmaneuver

Virago

Advanced sensors

Autothrusters

inertial dampners

Guri

bodyguard

Autothrusters

Syndicate thug

Ion cannon turret

BTL-A4-Y-Wing

Agro Mech

depends on how "theme" we're talking, but

Xizor: Predator, Virago, Sensors, auto-thrusters, dampeners

Guri: Predator, auto-thrusters

BLT Aggro-mech Ion Y or two pirates
