I think there might be a translation error with the German version of R4-B11,

When attacking, if you have a target lock on the defender, you may spend the target lock to choose any or all defense dice. The defender must reroll the chosen dice.

was translated into German as this (no need to learn German)

Backtranslation from the false (?) German version to English:

When attacking, if you have a target lock on the defender, you may spend the target lock to choose one or all defense dice. The defender must reroll the chosen dice.

So, in a hypothetical scenario of a TL on a TIE Fighter (range 2) the German version would allow the attacker to force a reroll of 1 OR 3 dice, while I think the English version allows the attacker to force a reroll of 1, 2 or all 3 die/dice (if my English skills are correct).

You are correct. The English version allows you to choose how many dice to get rerolled. 1, 2, or 3 (or more even)
