Starviper modif and repaints

By Sixwood, in X-Wing

Hi there :)

New little work on the starviper !

I have two of them so i don't want to have the same buterfly ship ^^.

I ve only find one picture on the web showing an CG starviper in the cruising position, or just before an attack.

Really simple to cut !

i ve try to do a ion effect on the canon, but...

I ve try too to add some engine glow inside the closed wings. It do the job at 50 cm, but too close, the effect is not so cool. Don't have aerograph, so i have to work more a do lot's of differents pass.

Buy the way, sorry for my english , school is so far, and i try to do my best ^^

And i just ask here : Is there a place on this forum where i can create only one post for posting my ships? It would be more simple ^^

That simply looks perfect. I wouldnt change a thing. And yes, you can just create a thread with all your ships. People do that.

Inspirational.

Wow!

:D

Excellent! And love the colour scheme

How did you fold the wings in? Really gently, or did you cut them off and then glue them via wire or something? Curious as I'd like to do a mod like this.

Looks amazing, btw. I like the orangish tint on the inside wings.

That looks amazing!

That is awesome! I was thinking of re-gluing the wings in the back position on one of them to make it unique in a formation. Wish I could paint well.

Many thanks :)

Yes i simply cut them and sanded a little place on the first wings to glue the little in.

The Starviper fell 2 times from the table during the painting, and all was still in place :)

The Starviper has been one of my favorite ships for a loooooong time. So much so that its the ship that I used back in an old Star Wars RP that I was a part of. Decided to fold the wings back and make it more sleek (plus then I can put it on a single peg, which I do with most of my small ships) Other than that I kept it simple; just painted in the panels that were worn, painted the cockpit black (I have since touched it up with some Deathclaw brown) and the guns.

That is excellent shading on the panels.

Did you paint them white and drybrush the darker part, or paint dark and drybrush the white?

All I did was paint the black panels. The shading is how it came from FFG.

It looks beautiful. Great job!

This is superb! Inspires me to do more with my Starvipers than just cover up the black patches and Black Sun insignias. Well done.
