Big Ten Xwing

I've been kicking around a Ten Numb list in my head, it seems obvious to pair him with Biggs but I'm a little lost after that.

Right now ive got

Veteran instincts 1

Mangler Cannon 4

Biggs Darklighter 25

Airen Cracken 19

Gold Squadron 18

Autoblaster turret 2

Really that last 39 points is up for grabs, I've also considered a btl y wing with ion turret and r2 partnered with a chaandran refit a wing but I image there's someone who can make a better suggestion than I can think of.

Three Bandits and Advanced Sensors on Ten? With the opponent wanting to kill Biggs and then Ten, the little guys should have plenty of time to make real nuisances of themselves, and Sensors will open up Ten's dial a bit more.

Advanced sensors totally slipped my mind! That would really let me take advantage of Tens PS and give me solid numbers. I haven't put the list on the table but that's where i think I'll start.

I actually did put it on the table last night (I was trying to decide what to fly and this popped into my head), and the results were promising. The Z-95s grant enough dice to chew through low-agility ships, while Ten outright murders high-agility ones. You could be on to something here.

How did you fly it? One big group with Biggs or the bandits separate from ten and Biggs? Or some other way?

First up: you get a like just for the Iron Fist reference.

I started them together initially. Figured it was the best way to get the most use out of Biggs, and I was up against a Firespray + Mini-swarm, so there were no arc dodgers that would punish formation flying. Even if there had been a Squint or Phantom I would still start together and use Ten's PS and Sensors to time the break so as to catch the arc dodger while it was trying to get onto a flank.

The Z-95s were able to eat through the Firespray, and the TIEs did not enjoy being shot at by Ten at all. I imagine the Soontirs and Whispers of the world would enjoy it even less, especially since the former can't even hide behind his Autothrusters at range 3.

I definitely like the list, enough that I'll start organising tougher competition to see how it fairs. Just a matter of finding time away from the double IGs I've fallen in love with...

Finally got a few games in. A few early thoughts

This list is brutal against interceptors, ten is scary good and the blocking Zs do work

This list is very good against vader, he can't get away from ten, cant get through Biggs and ten.

Biggs is surprisingly important to the offensive output, so don't waste him.

The bandits are pretty survivable against most ships, If the situation calls for it spreading them out from biggs shouldn't be an issue

Durable ships with high firepower, I lost a game against scum Kath but my opponent definitely outflew me, I think expose chirnau or multiple generic phantoms could be an issue. Haven't played dash yet but he seems scary.

Not sure if there's enough firepower here to drop a good fat Han, not sure if anything has that.

I want to get some more games in but advance sensors has also definitely proven its worth.

What about running 3 B-Wings?

Ten Numb - FCS, Mangler Cannon

Nera Dantels - FCS, Flechette Torpedoes x 2, Munitions Failsafe

Dagger Sqn Pilot - FCS, Ion Cannon

Comes in at 99 pts, so you have a chance of getting the initiative.

The basic idea is to fly the three of them close together and that Numb uses FCS and the MC to cause crits.

Dantels and the Flechette Torpedoes deal with arc dodgers and watch the rear of the formation and the Dagger Sqn Pilot uses the Ion Cannon to tie things down.

All three TL for fun.

Edit: If you want the drop on Han, take it to 100 and give Numb VI.

I Tested this list yesterday:

Luke Skywalker + R2D2 + Veteran Instincts

Ten Numb + Adv Sensors + Mangler Cannon + Veteran Instincts

Jake Farrel + Push the Limit + Veteran Instincts + Chardan Refit + Autothrusters + A-Wing Test Pilot

High Initiatives, The idea is to first fire with Luke if Shielded ships are present, then fire with Ten Numb to make critical hits and use Farrel great mobility to flank. I have tested this against a Firespray + 2 interceptor list, and against a 2 interceptors and 3 tie fighters list.

This Ten Numb, specially against the second list is a killer, not tried yet against decimator or Fat Han, but I think It could be also a good list

Vi luke would be a solid addition, the one thing I noticed with this list is that since ten fired first there was a slight reduction in effectiveness against shielded targets. I may try Luke, he's also a solid closer
