So I'm sure somebody else has already noticed this, but Scum now rule in highest number of ships that can be fielded in an (Epic) game.

Binayre Pilot x11 (11 x 12 points = 132 points)

Cartel Spacer x12 (12 x 14 points = 168 points)

(Alternatively, can run 12 Binayre and 11 Cartel and have 2 points for upgrades or initiative bid)

That's 23 total ships (Rebels and Imperials max out at 22 as their next cheapest pilot after they max out on 12 point pilots is 15 and 16 respectively)

They also can tie with Rebels for highest number of target lock tokens that can be maintained with 30:

Spice Runner + Weapons Engineer x12 (24 target locks)

Binayre Pilot x6 (6 target locks)

Granted this squad would be horrible while running a 23-ship epic list would actually probably be effective...

imagine having to buy 6 aggressors to outfit those Zs

Are there some epic rules that aren't in the manual, or did I just miss them? Why couldn't you field 25 Z-95s or 25 TIEs?

Why would you need aggressors? You would need to come up with 12 Weapons Engineers though if you ever wanted to maintain 30 target locks at once...which is a lot of Falcons or Shuttles...

Epic dogfight is 12 small base ships and 6 large base max. Team epic is 8 small and 4 large base max...per player...I've always presumed this meant that on a team of 2, each player could field 8 ties (16 total).

No new epic rules have been posted to that effect. Escalation has that limit, but not epic.

Team Epic have those numbers as well.

Interestingly, in Escalation (with 8 small /4 large caps), the largest available Swarm is still 11 ships, irrespective of faction.

Empire does it with TIE Fighters and TIE Bombers, and has enough points to get Howlrunner.

Rebels do it with Z-95 Headhunters and A-Wings with Chaardan Refits, 9 points left over

Scum do it with Z-95 Headhunters and M3-A "Scyk" Interceptors, with 12 points left over, or 6 after upgrading an Interceptor to Serriseu
