Tournament Participant Organization thoughts

By Govrek, in Imperial Assault Skirmish

With the Tournament Rules out, and knowing that tile set up is going to be a thing, I was inspired to get organized. I made a list of what tiles are used in each mission, and cross referenced into the following categories. Anyone care to double check my work?

Massasi Ruins Only: 25, 27, 28, 38(3)
Moisture Farm Only: 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 15(2)
Mos Eisley Outskirts Only: 13, 20, 21, 22, 23, 26
Massasi & Farm: 3, 14(2), 17(2), 18(2)
Farm & Outskirts: 29, 32(2), 39(3)
Massasi & Outskirts: 1, 2, 31, 35(2)
All Maps: 6, 11, 16, 36(3)
I think event prep for me will include bagging up each category to be able to quickly pull all the tiles for the given map. I'm also pondering a tournament tray to carry minis, command and deployment cards, Tiles and tokens, to be able to quickly set up and tear down and move to the next table for each round. How do y'all plan on keeping organized, as a player, for these events?

This seems as good of a plan as any... the tiles are definitely the coolest part and the worst part of the game at the same time. Any way to speed up the puzzle making is helpful. Thanks.

Maybe we should award bonus points to the players at the table that builds their puzzle first lol.

I'm old. I cant stand how small the text is in the book for map tiles. I also cannot stand the fact that the tiles are not labelled on the map itself, so I have to guess where things go based on a picture.

I also hate those **** kids, always on my lawn.

It can be a bit of a pain to determine which of the short joiner tiles are in which places. I was thinking of scanning copies of the skirmish maps and putting them into the full page sleeves, just to save on wear and tear of the originals. Perhaps, adding the tile numbers on the map would be a good idea...

I've already got my skirmish maps in full-page sleeves and placed in a small 3-ring binder. I'd highly recommend it. Since I have the binder with me, I've also got the Learn to Play and the Rules Reference Guide printed (from the official PDFs) and inside that binder too, so that all the information I'll need is easily available and my original books don't suffer wear and tear.

What I'd like to do is find a way to take an outline of the map and write in the schematics (ie, tiles) for how to build it, so that I can place that paper on the back side of the official skirmish map paper. It seems like that would make it easier (on the eyes at least) to build the skirmish map. I haven't found a good way to do that yet, though.
