Armada and Imperial Assault don't even have any avatars yet, to name just a couple. And I would really like more than just the first two waves of X-Wing ships, even just the later X-Wing in the Rebel transport expansion has different enough art to make interesting avatars.

When I see a hockey player do a triple axel, I'll be impressed. Figure skaters are tougher too. When hockey players fall on the ice they've got like six inches of pads, figure skaters have like 1mm of lycra and sequins.

I think I'm the only one with my avatar, but yeah, it gets confusing sometimes when we keep seeing multiple people with the same avatars posting in the same thread.

When I see a figure Skater get into a worthwhile fight with a competitor and walk away I'll be impressed...hell when I see a figure Skater do something outside of the same 4 or 5 pretty little spins I'll be impressed...when a figure Skater can lose a tooth and not cry I'll be impressed...I could go on,but I won't...

Them falling and bruising their delicate little tushies is actually pretty **** funny...so there is that.

I have 0 interest in figure skating...it's been boring since I had to suffer through watching it with my mom...it's just the same spins over and over and over again...it's also political and that doesn't interest me...

Forgive me if I care little for what those pretty Spandex clad girly men do...

And when I see a figure Skater take a body check from a 250 lb dude at high speed and stand back up I'll be impressed. those pads are there for a reason...those pucks are rock hard and fly at high speed...it hurts like hell even through the small amount of passing they wear...I know first hand.

You were ribbing? Why didn't you say so? Note the face I had on my second post? I was joking at least till my last post...if you had just made it somewhat evident you were joking or ribbing as you put it I probably just would have posted some thing smartarsey...

These things don't translate well over the internet...we should all strive to make joking as obvious as possible...keeps the mood better and prevents Pepe from taking things the wrong way wouldn't you agree? :-)

No retraction needed from my point of view. It's really only insulting if you view women as inherently less valuable than men, which our society is wont to do, but which is fallacious in the extreme. So, read another way, he's basically just saying he doesn't care about pretty, elegant men wearing spandex who are engaging in a hobby mostly frequented by ladies. Though why he immediately made the jump to men's figure skating is another issue entirely.

Just saiyan, no element of that post of his looks like anything but stream-of-consciousness rambling, indicative of actual views and in no way intended as humour. I'm not happy about it.

No because in that post I was serious, outside of a stereotype (ie the girly man moniker) or two there was nothing dumb about what I said...and it would be bad form to take back something I meant in order to save face. Though I'll apologize for coming off aggressive. I responded in the manner I that matched the manner i felt i had been spoken to. The post before about her opinion being ignored was the joke...I saw no indication of joking in her following post which is why I posted the way I posted...a simple =p would have gone a long way to showing her intent which is difficult to read over simple text without being able to hear or see the other persons expression....I meant every word of the third post...that's my opinion you may disagree, figure skating is boring and consists of little more than 4 or 5 pretty spins done to different songs....those guys aren't as tough as a hockey player... It's not something I enjoy and I have seen enough of it to know...I don't understand how some people like it but people do...I just change the channel...
