how do you load out your Scum Fett Firespray

By Grave13, in X-Wing

The scum crew upgrade that has me most excited is the Security Droid for action-independent targetlocks

I'd probably start loading all my firesprays with him and then add to taste. Maybe V.I, droid, EU Boba or same thing on Kath only PTL instead of V.I.

K4 will be a solid choice.

I don't like pairing EU with Recspec, and I have had trouble with heavy action dependent Firesprays (PTL, Recspec) because it's one of the more easily blocked ships in the game in my experience and it had a blind spot that turreted ships don't have (so you still at least can have a shot with them).

So, while I like K4, I'm leaning more toward Gunner (due to limitations of. K4), EU, and lone wolf as options (or VI).

I think it's a bad idea with Boba to eliminate some upgrades because there's overlap with his R1 rerolls.

So you're thinking put Gunner on Scum Boba even though it might be redundant? Care to go into more detail if you don't mind? Inquiring scum want to know.

he's talking about the Droid (TL and Boba's re-rolls overlap)

I personally don't think there's much overlap

1.) Re-rolls apply whether attacking or defending

2.) Re-rolls are not guaranteed (need enemies at range 1)

3.) TL does not have to be spent unless the number of blanks exceed the number of re-rolls

I think it'll be worth it on either V.I + EU or just Expert Handling Boba to guarantee the punch he wouldn't otherwise have (and because Rec Spec takes up the action he would use to reposition himself)

But those are only two types of Boba builds, who knows what zaniness we'll come up with? The power of Rec Spec is always going to be a great choice to take advantage of those attack/defending re-rolls as long as you can utilize it.

Bobba - Autoblasters - Lone Wolf or Predator, Inertial Dampners

Lotta folks dissing Scum Bobba, I think he hell fun. Kath is great of course.

For today's store championship, I ended up just winging it last minute (after agonizing over a list for weeks, I threw one together in five minutes because another guy at the tourney had a list really close to what I wanted to run)...I ditched my Interceptor-heavy Imperials and went with Boba and Kath, both with upgrades thrown on to hit 100.

Fett had K4 security droid, Hotshot Blaster (which got the kill on a not-as-clever-as-he-thought Turr Phennir), Advanced Proton Torpedoes, Veteran Instincts (which came in really handy when one match came down to just Fett vs. Soontir Fel!), and an Engine Upgrade.

I'm not sure it's the exact stuff I'd put on him again, given the chance, but all of it came in handy.

Does anyone have anything for Emon? He is a Firespray pilot that I dont hear much about in builds.

I've had some fun with 12pts of area denial, but haven't really explored him otherwise. There's a thread somewhere about slingshotting Proxy mines with him though.

[48] Emon, Andrasta, Experimental Interface, 3x Proximity Mine

Basically EI is only used for the bomb drops, but it lets you get all 3 out without cutting into your normal action economy. I generally deployed him to have an easy "circuit" where I could drop all 3 bombs as area denial instead of directly on ships - then he functioned normally.

Being able to choose bomb positions to block enemy ingress vectors does a fantastic job of breaking up their opening plans, and invalidates any thought they put into asteroid placement.

EMON suffers from no EPT big Fing issue honestly. FFG didn't we cover this already holy Jessus!

UGH....

I've been using this pair recently. It took 3rd out of 16 at our store championship yesterday.

Boba - VI, Engine Upgrade, Recon Spec, Inertial Dampeners
Kath - Predator, Engine Upgrade, Recon Spec, Inertial Dampeners, Ion Cannon

This was a hell of a lot of fun to fly. Scum Boba has been doing a lot of amazing things for me in my latest practice games and I settled on Kath as his partner after painting up a spare Firespray for her. She is also absolutely incredible. There were multiple occasions where I pulled off 5 attack dice in the auxiliary arc at range 1.

VI is great on Boba, as it allows you to choose between focusing, boosting, or popping the dampeners after most of the board has already moved.

Recon Spec is gold on a Firespray, especially if I was smart enough with my flying to swap out Predator with Lone Wolf on Kath. Makes them significantly more survivable while also allowing them to take out enemies before they get a chance to fire back.

Boba's ability is awesome, but you need to be cautious about boosting to Range 1 if you're going to be in arc of the enemy or if you don't think you can kill them before they shoot back. It's better to think of it as a fun bonus rather than your main focus.

While Inertial Dampeners are still available for use, it doesn't hurt to choose maneuvers that MIGHT cause you to bump dangerous ships. You then have the option to take the bump and avoid being attacked, or pop the Dampeners and get your shot.

Inertial Dampeners are incredible.

Ion Cannon had two crucial plays for me during the day, but might not be entirely worth it.

I don't think I'll be able to take a Firespray without EU anymore.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. My point was that I don't think it's a good idea to dismiss cards like K4, Lone Wolf, or Predator just because there is some overlap with Boba's ability. Those cards are still going to be very useful on him despite the fact that he might get some rerolls at R1. K4 especially gives you TL you can use later and Predator and Lone Wolf actually help add to your reroll total when only getting one, ensuring that you'll get to reroll multiple dice. Predator especially makes him a very efficient, actionless swarm killer at all ranges.

Gunner isn't redundant on Boba. I actually think gunner is going to be a stronger card this wave because of the popularity and strength of IG 88, the addition of ships like M3 and the Starviper, and the fact that autothrusters means you'll see more Imperial Interceptors and A-Wings and that they'll be harder to kill.

Like several others,I'm keen to try Stay on Target and outlaw tech. Debating whether or not to add engine for off turn.

People have mentioned gunner but I haven't seen any builds with it. How about:

- gunner, marksmanship, and engine.

I'd love to get expert handling to work because I prefer BR to boost. Don't see many good build optiona it though. K4 would be ok but not stellar.

gunner is something you want with constant modifiers (not necessarily marksmanship because it leaves a firespray's **** in the wind, but Boba's ability, LW, Predator etc are good options) or just as a modifier in and of itself (it's really not bad just by itself)
