Why So Serissu?

By CruzinToVictory, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I brought this list to a tournament this past weekend and had quite a lot of success with it, but there weren't any large ships allowed and I shockingly didn't go against any phantoms.

So, those who have far more experience than I do, how do you think this list would hold up in a normal tournament?

Serissu (20)

Binayre Pirate (12) - Feedback Array (2)

Binayre Pirate (12) - Feedback Array (2)

Binayre Pirate (12) - Feedback Array (2)

Binayre Pirate (12) - Feedback Array (2)

Syndicate Thug (18) - Ion Cannon Turret (5), Unhinged Astromech (1)

Total: 100

I got Feedback Array off a few times in 3 games and took out 2 ships' last hull with it. The Thug was thrown in because he fit perfectly and it gave me an ion/turret to maybe help with arc dodgers.

What do you guys think? Let 'er rip!

I could see it having a hard time against a lot of B-wings. I would think that you would not want to do your Feedback unless you are able to hit an evasive target or to take out the last hull. If that's the case, you might have spent a lot of points on something you don't use. Otherwise, I think it's a cool idea.

It's actually funny that you say that, because I absolutely demolished the two B-wing lists I played against. Now maybe my opponent flew it wrong, but I just focus fired one down, ioned another into oblivion, and then picked apart the rest of the squad little by little. I think you might be right though, that a well flown B-wing list my take out Serissu quickly and leave me in trouble.

As a lover of B-wings, I know I hate facing 12 point ships. concentrated fire goes through your 1 agility right quick.

The counter to 12 point ships (2 attack dice) is 3+ agility, which scum so tactfully checks with feedbacks.

I think I'd prefer a heavy Scyk over the thug. I've found having a ship that can throw out powerful attacks are important to using feedbacks optimally (you do your damage, feedback only to guarantee death)

That's actually a great idea. I can fit Laetin with the title and a Mangler cannon for the same exact price as the thug. My initial thought was the turret could counter phantoms/arc dodgers, but that might not be as necessary with 4 feedback arrays.

Using Laetin would also synergize well with Serissu's ability, making him hard to kill while putting out some serious hurt. Yet another option would be to downgrade the Syck to a Cartel, give it a HLC for even more damage, and give VI to Serissu to let her shoot first at PS 10.

Decisions, decisions!

I think I'd prefer Laetin with the Mangler. Better against numbers, synergizes better with Serissu, and he isn't totally helpless once Serissu goes boom. Plus bumping a 2 attack ship to PS10 hardly seems worth the effort.

it's very helpful, actually, but I've only done it with Howlrunner in her 7 tie swarm. It's hard to eat throw a phantom with her, but on the upside she never once died to it (b-roll ftw and all)

As for feedbacks, they do limit the importance of high PS imo, but only if you learn to position the list very well. Each bug-zapper Z is a "no go" zone, and if you cover them with your heavy hitter you'll present a rock & a hard place to smash your opponent's teeth in. If you don't cover them, though, your opponent will start picking off your Zs and tearing holes in your position. Things aren't so fun, then :(

I took Xizor w/four buggzappers against Whisper & Soontir (+1 saber) and yeah, it's pretty awesome. The Zs tore whisper down to 1 hull and would've ended her if it hadn't been for Xizor's TL + focus finishing her off from down town. Xizor removed the PTL + Auto Saber on his own and Soontir was the only one left after time was called (he had 2 damage via feedback)

Long live Feedback array, the coolest ******* card FFG has yet introduced
