Asikel's Imperial Assault Painting Adventure

By Asikel, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Greetings all. I thought I'd go ahead and put pictures of my Imperial Assault painting efforts up on the board. I saw Sorastro's video tutorial and that got me started on the Stormtroopers, Probe Droids, and E-web Engineers. After that I sort of went rogue and just kept painting. Here's what I've done so far. Apologies for the picture quality.

Also, please keep in mind that I have never painted miniatures before.

They all look like really good results for a first effort. Probably better than mine will turn out. There are some minor things here and there that I would try to do differently, but there's nothing that looks really "wrong." The black parts on the Stormtrooper armor and particularly the E-Web Engineer's armor don't look dark enough, but that might just be the pictures. And I think the stripes on the Nexu could be more subtle. But all of that is minor.

Yeah, the black body glove on the stormtroopers and the e-web engineer turned out more of a dark gray than black. I suspect that is because of the black wash that I used. When I started I just went to Michael's and got some of the model paints rather than the citadel, so it wasn't as dark as the Nuln Oil. The stripes on one of the Nexu I thought were okay, while the other just came out a lot darker than I wanted. Altogether I'm still pretty happy with how things are going so far.

Not bad i just started painting not that long ago aswell, one tip i have is if you want to paint Eyes, you can narrow the Eyes a bit with basecolor, good way to correct or just, shade the face, it looks better with dark Eyes than to have big manga-looking eyes
