Fleet Ambush (Defense) strategies and fleets
This objective is quite interesting in that it is quite different from the Hyperspace Objective. The Hyperspace one allows the player who brought the objective to place his ships in an advanced position (or reserve them as the case may be), while this objective forces the other player to split his fleet.
If I had a fleet with a VSD and two GSDs and initiative this could actually be a good Objective to pick. You can start the GSD in a forward position, allowing it to use its black dice sooner, and if it survives it can move to a flanking position of the enemy fleet, either disrupting their formation as they turn to face the GSD or allowing it to take pot shots at them as they continue forward.
Alternately a VSD is almost guaranteed to be able to survive the initial close range fight, while maintaining a large long range dice pool makes it an incredibly dangerous flanker.
