Does R4 Agro trigger off of blaster turret or is the timing wrong?
Most people seem to think yes but needs to be FAQ'ed just to be clear.

seems very straightforward to me.
You spend a focus before you roll dice on a BT attack.
The act of spending a focus gives you a TL - attack dice still not rolled at this point.
You modify dice by spending a TL after attack dice are rolled (and after defender has modified them)

Not really. Part of developing expertise is learning to recognize good options and bad ones without thinking; most people just aren't used to thinking of Blaster Turret as anything but a 10-point (turret + Recon Specialist + Moldy Crow) marginal option for HWKs.
So if you're used to thinking of Blaster Turret as not really even an option, it's not an instant process to reorient your thinking to "hey, Blaster Turret + R4 Agromech is a very functional 6 points!"

OK - I think I get it - you're saying that in order for someone to appreciate that this is a decent combo they also need an appreciation of how the timing works.

The card makes it a bit ambiguous. The wording on Blaster Turret is "spend a focus token to make this attack", not "spend a focus token to roll X dice", so presumably you could argue that before you spend that focus token you aren't yet attacking. On the other hand, normal X-wing rules are 1) declare an attack on a target 2) choose weapon 3) roll dice .. etc.

put it on kavil and it becomes even more functional!!! OTOH why are scum "Ys" better than Rebels? this strongly hints at a "rebel aces Y wing pack"..lol
