Generous donations victory conditions

By Mad Malade, in Imperial Assault Campaign

In Generous Donations, the mission briefing states that the mission ends after round 8 or when all heroes are wounded. After the virus is uploaded, it is written that the mission ends when all terminals are removed or when the rebels have 12 tokens.

So here I come with the question : when new victory conditions are announced, do they replace the previous ones if those are not stated again or are they just additional conditions ?

In our session we ruled that the new victory conditions replaces the older ones because, in this case, when all heroes are wounded, it does not take too long for the imperial player to remove all the terminals and would just give one or two more rounds for the rebels to gather tokens. But still, we're wondering about future cases where the impact could be greater.

Technically, in the mission briefing, the rebels don't have a victory condition, they have a mission progression point. When the mission trigger for "The Virus" happens, you need to read each bullet point to them, this includes the actual victory conditions for the mission.

In this case, the rebels will not know their own victory condition until they trigger "The Virus", the Imperial victory condition does not change. When all heroes are wounded or at the end of round 8, the Imperials win.

Thanks for the quick response. Then this mission is really hard for the rebels. I almost feel bad playing the Empire.

In my second run through of this I real started egging the rebels on since they were dawdling a bit. Even then they managed to get only 9 tokens.

For the next time I'll play this mission, I'm actually thinking about switching the imperial guards for a regular imperial officer (for the deployement that triggers when they open the door). It still makes sense but it gives at least a chance for the rebels to secure the terminals before I deactivate them.

Also, maybe putting the elite E-web outside and the regular one inside instead would be more fair. In my session it was Gaarkhan who opened the doors. With no place to hide, face to face with the Elite E-Web, it was buh-bye Gaarkhan (or skittles ! as you would say).
