IG Agressor Repaints

By Sixwood, in X-Wing

Hi from France :)

Here are my two IG Agressor . I ve modified the wings to give them a more agressive attitude.

Nice highlighting!

Those look fantastic.. nice job

Very nicely dark and threatening, good stuff.

The crazy claw action is wicked, but what I like best is the cockpit lighting. I wish I could do that; I'd get another two Aggressors and have a red, blue, yellow, and green one.

Amazing. Initialy I thought Aggressor was looking quite stupid but apparently it was just the painting. The windows and the matching stripes are perfect, and the metallic hulls fit well for ruthless robotic assassins.

Looking forward to see rest of the IG alphabets, you´ll need four for epic ;)

Awesome! I will steal your idea. Greetings from Germany ;)

Very nice! I usually shy away from metallic paints on small models like this as I feel it's hard to capture a proper metallic shine at this scale. However, your models are top notch! It's either that or you are a friggin' wizard painting Non-Metallic Metal realistically. :)

Those are sick! Incredible work, was on the fence about painting my two, you've inspired me to do so. The canopy lighting in particular is wonderful.

Thanks a lot for your comments :)

Honestly, all of the "techniks" are reaaaaally simple, no airbrush and only GW paint ^^

I will probably buy another ig for the epic games, but i prefer waiting a bit for the moment. Don't know if the epic format will be popular in France :)

Thanks !

Cold... Dark & Deadly... Wonderful!!!

Absolutely incredible job painting these. I too never liked the IG-2000, but I may have just changed my mind looking at your repaints.

Those ships look so much better now! Amazing transformation!

Someone on BGG bought some chrome spray paint and hit up their IG-2000. It looked quite well. I figured that and some GW wash and highlights would be rather easy to do. Anyone try chrome spray paint in the US? I could always use GW metallics, but I'm lazy.

As to the OP, those are awesome! The cockpits do make the craft.

I was going to do a bare steel looking one soon.

Wow, that is super sexy! great job!

How did you achieve the bending on the arms?

Man these are insanely inspiring. Now I'm going through options ..

Thanks for that.

Malev

thank you :)

I will try to explain in a good english :)

I simply cut the arms with a x-acto ( 2 differents parts, the mechanic base and the wing ), file a bit on the IG body to have a plane surface and dig a little hole on the "cylinder"

I just glue them and hop ! ( ok i will always carry a stick of glue now, just in case :) )

I use a little piece of plastic card on the red IG to properly finish the angle between the arm and the "claw" ( on the right wings )

I ve used some green stuff too :)

I really love the paintjobs. Can you explain what you used and how it was done?

Did I spot these two beautiful conversions near the live stream table at Yavin, by any chance?

Nice painting, though shouldn't this bee in the painting section? :)

Edit: love the paint jobs. I didn't know those claws were movable on Aggressors in Star Wars.

Thanks :)

I don't really know the SW universe, so my paint schem and my conversion are not canon ^^

This one was my first post on ffg forum if i remember well, and now i post all my paints in one only thread that is in the painting forum.
